I've said it before and I'll say it again Packleader. You are amazing!!Whoever owns a piece of land will never run out of work. A branch from my Eucalyptus trees fell on my neighbor's parcel, and I am
cleaning it up. Because it will be again 100 degrees today, I can work only from sunrise till 10 a.m. and from 6 p.m. till it gets dark.
I am using a hedge trimmer for pruning branches that are hanging too low, while my pups are watching me.

My large tree branch knocked down part of my neighbor's fence with another neighbor, and now my neighbor can't let his goats out
to feast on the weeds. So, tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. my neighbor, my son-in-law, and I will again straighten out that fence.
OMG! Patty....those look wonderful ! With the price of produce these days, how blessed you are to be able to grow your own. Tell your husband his gardening skill is impressive.Since I can’t find a gardening thread I’ll use this one. Half of our garden is in the ground, and part of it is in pots. We’ve just put an 8 x 16 raised garden plot together made from cedar wood. We got the one with raised sides to help keep the deer out. I’ll show it when it’s filled with dirt.

We have water melons, cantaloupes and a variety of berries too. I’d love to take credit for all this but my husband does most of it

Yes I could... but that doesn't solve the problem of the sofa@hollydolly, if you’re buying a new dryer, you could insist that removal the old one is part of the deal.
Thank you OneEyedDiva. It’s not only the price of produce that got us wanting our own garden, but it’s the condition of the produce got us wanting to grow own own. When we lived in Ontario the produce was at least fresh. Produce in this province isn’t very nice.OMG! Patty....those look wonderful ! Well, so far I've got tomatoes, taters, green beans ,roselle ,blackberry, strawberry, celery, lettuce, some sugar cane, and 4 banana trees.
Thanks Squatting DogToday was move the RV from the side yard to out front by the shop. But first, had to break out the tractor and dig a ditch alongside where it's going to get the water to drain out to the road. Then, I had to wrestle 2 big old railroad ties under Margo (the RV) to give her stabilizers something sturdy to set on. Finally got her where I want her. Sure glad I've got that tractor. Next step will be service her generator in case of hurricanes.

Yes, we can and freeze all that we grow. I'd love to take all the credit, but, the wife has the greener thumb. We compost a lot of food waste, leaves, sticks etc. I also burn the small oak debris as it makes a great potash. Thanks Squatting Dog
Your new place looks really nice by the way.
You always have a nice garden. You clearly love growing. Like yourself, we take advantage of 5 gallon buckets. They are perfect for growing in. We have white ones and orange ones from Home Depot.
Do you do canning or freezing? That red mulch looks great.
Well I haven't put the leather 2 seater sofa up for sale.. and it is in very good condition, altho' it does have a couple of scratches on one arm...which is why I felt no-one would want it.. but it might have to come to that....@hollydolly, can up offer the dryer for free parts.
I’m surprised your couch hasn’t sold. It would be immaculate. You would have choked if you saw the two couches that were being put out on a nearby street. They were filthy and the spring of the seats were shot. One was gone by the next morning. The other had leftover food wrappers on it.![]()
DittoYes, we can and freeze all that we grow.
Ditto. My husband does most of the gardening and most of the canning.I'd love to take all the credit, but, the wife has the greener thumb.
We compost all compostable things and have 2 big compostable bins but most of our compost comes from the lobster and crab plants. We get a ton at a time.We compost a lot of food waste, leaves, sticks etc. I also burn the small oak debris as it makes a great potash.
You’re welcome. It certainly looks like a success to me. I hope your insurance company helped you out. All your places look good. You obviously take care of them.Thank you for the compliment on the house. Ever since we dumped the sinkhole disaster house and lost the Arkansas one to the fire, (man, sometimes it just comes at you with no end in site), we've just continued to work on making this one better and better.![]()
While insurance wasn't perfect, between the 2 places and selling the extra acres and equipment, (the extra trailers, the Dodge diesel, and even the extra RV), it was enough to allow us this home outright. Smart wife knows how to rat hole money so we have enough around for taxes and any emergency repair we might run into. My being the handy guy to have aroundYou’re welcome. Were you leasing land before? While insurance wasn't perfect, between the 2 places and selling the extra acres and equipment, (the extra trailers, the Dodge diesel, and even the extra RV), it was enough to allow us this home outright. We don't have to farm out much these days.
We kind of took a beating on the sinkhole deal, but in the end, all went well.
How do you use your potash? Isn't it acidic?Yes, we can and freeze all that we grow. I'd love to take all the credit, but, the wife has the greener thumb. We compost a lot of food waste, leaves, sticks etc. I also burn the small oak debris as it makes a great potash.

We had leased some land and had some other land belonging to friends while raising the Angus. Once we sold out the cattle, I had no need for the truck, cattle trailer and some of our other equipment, so we let them go.Were you leasing land before?
You being the handy guy to have around? Lol
My guy is super handy also. I’m glad to have him.
Speaking of husband. He wants to know where you got the metal for your raised beds? He likes your gardens also.
That was a smart move.We had leased some land and had some other land belonging to friends while raising the Angus. Once we sold out the cattle, I had no need for the truck, cattle trailer and some of our other equipment, so we let them go.
the metal was just some corrugated roofing tin from Home depot.
