Lovely day, 74F and mostly sunny.
Grand daughter - in- law drove down from MA ( an hour drive!) with baby Darius to visit me and then my grandson's mother here in the same town.
Darius was wonderful, smiled all the time, laughed and chortled. My dog loves him, didn't want to leave his side. She works 3 nights a week; 12 hour shifts and today is one of her days off. She came at 11 am, we ate watermelon, fed Darius and then found out Eric's mother could not be available for the visit. Typical. I was going to go along too, but hadn't said anything.... good thing.
So, R. (grand daughter in law) had noticed a tag sale (yard sale) just up the road and we decided to visit. I haven't been to one in probably 10 years. We had to stop at the ATM to get cash.
It was fun, no one else was there yet. Older couple, Margo and Bud. They had a lot of stuff, I asked what inspired their sale, Margo said she saw the show Hoarders for the first time! They were so funny and so nice. We enjoyed visiting with them. Margo and Bud have 5 great grandchildren. Margo went nuts over the baby and kissed him. He beamed at her.
Everything we bought was $2.00. The bigger items they had, (lawn furniture) were $5.00.
R. bought a lawn sprinkler and a largish framed canvas painting of a landscape. It was really nice and beautifully framed.
I bought a pair of binoculars, a straw brimmed hat w/ a black ribbon, a pinkish-coral pouffe twin-sized comforter for my love seat, and one of those horse-shoe shaped neck pillows.
They had a nice white wicker rocking chair..... only $5.00! Wouldn't fit in the car, tho'. I had so much fun!
R. and Darius left a little before 2pm.
It was a great day for me. Hope you all are doing well.
