It's our 51st. wedding anniversary today, but we're not planning anything special. The weather forecast is supposed to be for a reasonably nice day, which probably explains why it's raining. Glad I got the grass cut yesterday.

Loads of work to do including making a batch of steak and kidney pies for the freezer.

It's 8.15am , it's gloriously sunny...🌞🌞 quite chilly tho', at 43 deg f..but apparently it will get to be 20 deg hotter later today.

I'm going to get myself dressed and drive to M&S and Tesco and get some shopping nice and early ..it means driving into North London but as it's early the roads will be quieter!!

Wave to yourself on the Ring camera! Then turn around and give a little bum shake. 🤗

Off to DD's again. SIL got in last night and wants to get as much furniture moved before he's off again.
It just worked out that he had these two big work trips right as they found their forever home.
Good thing they're young and good thing they moved up here where they have plenty of help.
My two year old grand son's hair is not getting longer. The curls are getting tighter. He is gorgeous! His two big sisters are there for him. He is spoiled, but in a good way. The prince.

lol well it's the back of me the ring camera gets most of the time.. as I'm going out :D

It's 11.30am now and it's warmed up beautifully.. Blue, blue skies.. glorious sunshine, 🌞 🌞 🌞 I wish now I'd arranged to go somewhere other than the supermarket...However yesterdays laundry didn't get all dried because I put out when the sun had gone around the front of the house.. so it's been drying while I was out, and it's almost bone dry now..

The road were quiet until I got to the motorway, and then it was busy.. but I wasn't expecting the supermarket and M&S to be so packed.. sooo early.. 9am.. and it was chocka-block..

I never or very rarely shop for groceries in the mornings, not since D was little.. so I've not seen those types of crowds shopping for groceries at the shops..aside from at Christmas..

Got all the windows open throughout the house.. and a cuppa tea and a chocolate eclair !:coffee:

Thoroughly enjoyed Library Book Club yesterday. My 96 year old neighbor & friend joined. Not a typo. 96 years old. Delightful woman. Also got to know better a lovely Russian woman and another person who wants to take me to her Reform Jewish Temple, and after High Holidays want to go. Like I don't know enough Jews already! :ROFLMAO: Plus I'm an atheist! Want to check it out though, and glad for the opportunity. Didn't get home for hours, just gabbing afterwards outside in the waning sun.

Today son/grandson coming to visit Grandma & 🐈🐈‍⬛. Expecting a wonderful day.

Moening all folks, I'm on lurky-loo status today, mucho pain,
pain pills....have a great day....
Sorry to hear that, Hawk. Hoping you feel better.

@jujube, I'm so sorry that you and SE have Covid. It's no fun, that's for sure. Hoping you're both back in the pink very soon.

@Capt Lightning - Sending Happy Anniversary wishes to you and the Mrs. 🎉🍷

Yesterday, I baked a cake! A box mix; lemon. Don't know what got into me, even when I bought it, as I rarely bake any desserts, except for a pan of brownies.

I also gave my dog a bath in the kitchen sink. I just cannot wash her in the tub without hurting my back. DGS used to do it, but he's gone. She needs a bath in the interim between appointments at the groomer.

Another beautiful day at 76F and sunny. No plans.

Since I just received via Amazon a new WD MyBook 4TB USB3.0 drive and USB 3.0 6 port hub, the last couple days have begun copying files into it. Although it has Backup functions, I prefer to do such manually. Am getting occasional errors (probably hardware) so cannot just let it run a full backup as errors pause or stop transfers. Expect to be working on this a few days.

Although all of my top and bottom row front teeth are fine so my smiles are fine, most molars are either extracted, crowned, or with fillings some of which have broken. So eating foods like steak and hard nuts are no more. A lower left jaw wisdom tooth with a big gold crown, apparently is allowing stuff to get in under the tooth as it has begun to feel infected with aching at times. Monday will contact a Kaiser Permanente dentist for first time ever to look at it that will probably require usual x-rays to look at what is happening below.

If it has to be extracted, being a wisdom molar, it may require an oral surgeon.

Home from a from a short vacation. Didn’t do anything special. Just wandered about admiring the scenery. We’ve been there many times. It’s nice to get away and have lunch and dinner in restaurants. We take food and drinks for breakfast. The only souvenir was a bar of facial soap. I forgot mine. The hotels just provide liquids in refillable bottles now.

How nice for you @Jules that you got away for awhile. Dining out can be fun and no clean up.

When we got home, DH realized he’d left his prescription reading glasses in the hotel bedside table stand. Called and the hotel had them, but they won’t send them to us, even if we pay. Did we want them to hold them until we returned or they thought maybe a courier company could pick them up. Fortunately, we know someone who knows someone else that just moved there, so they’ll do a pick up. It still means this person will have to go to the hotel and then to the post office to send them to us. Considering the hotel is part of a huge, nationwide chain and this is a major tourist area with folks arriving by car or plane year round, this seemed like poor management, imo.

P.S. I’m thankful it was my husband who forgot something. Usually it’s me.

@Capt Lightning Happy anniversary to you and Mrs. Captain!

@hollydolly It's Saturday! Why would the roads be quiet on Saturday morning? Isn't that when people who work Mon-Fri venture forth to do their weekly shopping? Did you save a chocolate eclair for me? I haven't had one in years.

@hawkdon I hope that as the day as gone one, you're feeling better.

What have I done today? Not a heckuva lot. Cleared off a countertop in the kitchen where my HSD (Horizontal Surface Disease) had taken over. We'll see how long it takes to pile up again. Stand by.

DSIL is taking the family out to IHOP for supper tonight and do I want to go along? Um. No, thank you, but it was nice to be invited.

quiet at 8.15m... no school. no school traffic, 60 % of the workforce still in bed... here most people get their shopping delivered.. and the rest do it during the week.. we have the biggest ''work from home'', force in the western world

Yes there is a definitely another chocolate eclair with your name on it in the fridge...

where did you go.. was it far from home ?

@hollydolly I'll be right over! Yum. Something else I haven't had in years is a real cream puff. When I was a kid, it was something we made often, and we filled them with real whipped cream that we made from the cream on the top of the milk bottle.

BTW, did you ever hear anything at all from the estate agent about the flat?
