Today was surgery day. Up at 5AM, checked in at 6:30. Was escorted to surgery prep, gowned, tested, wired up and had my face to face with the doctor. Had an ekg and nurse was getting ready to put in an IV. Another nurse poked her face in and called the IV nurse out of the room she returned and said my doc wanted to talk with me.

Everything stopped and there was a lot of whispering outside the room. Very uncomfortable doc came in and told me that he and the gas passer doc had realized they had both forgotten to schedule me for a heart scan earlier in the week so they weren't going to operate today. It was obviously killing my doc to admit he had made a mistake.

Have to reschedule and go through all this at some future time TBD.
Oh no! How did you handle it? As if there is any good way. 😒
I'm sorry that happened.

How annoying! Sorry you have to repeat it all.

I'm jammied. Ladies Loungewear (with pockets!) even though it's not quite bedtime yet. It is time for ice cream, though, then Agatha Christie's Death in the Clouds. I love Hercule Poirot❤️.

I wouldn't have handled that in any good way:mad:. I probably would have told the doc precisely where the bear sh!t in the buckwheat. Or how the cow ate the cabbage. Or something else not nice.

Got me. Sounds like something between a comforter and a sleeping bag.

The word just feels sort of "la di dah" to me, but I'm a caveman.
I think you are a Caveman..:ROFLMAO:.they've been called Duvets; for at lest 40 years... comforters are a differnt thing... I have both

Duvet's come in various Tog sizes .. comforters don't... Duvets come in different filling, Cmforters generally don;t...

I tried to be adult. I'm sure it was mortifying for the doc and although it was an inconvenience for me I am not about to make a bad situation worse with someone who will eventually be messing around inside me with sharp and pointy instruments.
True. You're a better person than I, though. In the heat of the moment, my tongue would have gone from zero to 60 in two seconds!

Good call. 🤗

Brought in my patio solar jar lights. Some sit on the table, others hang from hooks and a short length of chain.

Washed the jars and wiped down the "pucks" that sit at their tops and contain the solar cell, LED, and NiMH cell. I always buy the ones screwed together, not glued. That lets me open them up and test the rechargeable cell and replace it if it isn't holding a charge well any more. I can also clean any corrosion and replace the switch (with a jumper wire) since that goes first and I never switch them off anyway. I just store them with the cells out. I have 7 cells on a charger running a conditioning cycle now.

By now I've upgraded all of them from the cheapie cells they came with to higher capacity low-self-discharge alternatives. These charge up better during the day and run brighter for longer at night.

My neighbor tosses hers and buys new each Spring. I should ask for them for the parts. I don't mind tinkering.

I started packing early this morning, did my nails and spend some time on the Forum. My oldest grandson called me to say he wanted to come over because he was in my area. He got a surprise when I told him I was in Atlantic City .😄 We had a nice, long conversation instead. He is supposed to come by on Saturday though.

I was more efficient and more on schedule than I've ever been when leaving the hotel, so I'm quite pleased with myself. 😀 On the way to the bus Center I had a nice conversation with the Uber driver who was a courteous considerate young man . Turns out he'd been to my town and likes it here.

Casino bus passengers are told to be at the casinos by 5:30. I got there about quarter after and found out the bus wasn't due to pull off until 6:10 (usually it's by 6). I took a short nap on a bus. My son picked me up and I was glad to get home. Deja met me at the door. 😺 As much as I love being at the ocean, there's no place like home

Well! I was sitting on the teeny, tiny patio in my robe and Ladies Loungewear (with pockets!) drinking coffee and minding my own business when what to my wondering eyes did appear...a bobcat! It was strolling through the flowers like it had a right to.

Ever wanna see a bony little old lady move fast? You should have been here. I was back inside in less than a heartbeat. I got out a high-powered flashlight and aimed it all around the garden, starting with the spot where I first saw it. Nope. It was gone. Good!

Gotta get moving and get the morning stuff done. DD wants to leave around 8:30 to start our Friday shopping stuff. I'd like another cup of coffee but not going outside again until it's daylight.

Juniper (tabby) was at the emergency vet yesterday. She was sick with throwing up and diarrhea. Abdominal x-ray was OK for acute findings. Some mild inflammation. Kidneys on the small side of normal. She is senior now at 13 1/2 years. Waiting for a call on blood work: CBC, chem and thyroid.

They gave her subcutaneous fluids and nausea shot. She has nausea pills to start this evening. She seems better and ate canned food this morning.
Poor baby. I hope she completely recovers soon. It's scary when our pets get sick.

@Georgiagranny I didn't know that about Tempurpedic. At least a decade ago, my husband and I went looking for an adjustable Tempurpedic bed. The mattresses I tried were too firm. We weren't about to spend that much on something that wouldn't be comfortable. Glad we didn't invest in one. It's great you found a comfortable one.

My mother used to cook collard greens. I never liked them, but I ate hers. I've never cooked collards a day in my life and may have cooked kale only once.

@hearlady Your Halloween plans sound like big fun! :D

@hawkdon I know we second guess ourselves after falls (I had three so been there, done that). But just take you time and take the necessary precautions.Stay safe my friend.

@CinnamonSugar What's your status now that the storms have passed? Sill no electricity? I know you are feeling a void right now. You have a beautiful heart and soul so I have a feeling you'll find the right way to minister soon...or it may find you. 🤗 As far as visiting your daughter if she moves a distance away, is it possible you two can alternate monthly visits, to make it a little easier on you?

I have something I need to say but can't go into details right now, because I'm scared. I don't want to be accused of being vague, or whatever. That Telehealth conference my doctor requested last week? It did not go well. I haven't told my son as he was on vacation last week and I didn't want to spoil it for him.

My blood work indicated something possibly very dangerous. I can't say more, my mind is absorbing it and I must speak to my son. I'm supposed to make an appointment with a GI specialist (I had stage 3 colon cancer 20 years ago). Currently, I'm freezing up. I'm quietly panicking. I don't want to think about it or even make the appointment.

That's all I can say right now and perhaps I said too much.
I hope the diagnosis isn't nearly as bad as you suspect Pepper. I'm so sorry you are going through this! You did what loving mothers do...thought of your son's mental well being by not alarming him while he was on vacation. I was not aware that you were a cancer survivor! To survive S3 colon cancer was major! Despite the freezing up, which is entirely understandable, I hope you will go ahead and make the appointment ASAP. You will reveal more when you feel it's time. You know we are here for you.

I'm glad to read you had a fun time with your grandson. As far as you considering it a good day because you woke up. That's the spirit. I've heard this from many friends when asked how they are. "Blessed, because I woke up this morning". I feel the same. Take good care.

Thanks for asking, Diva…. Electricity was restored after a week, internet within 10 days.

Morning all.....it is 53F here now, up near 90F later today, still
no rain here....so sorry florida has suffered so much lately, I lived
in florida many moons ago....as for me I'm still scatterbrained
it seems, I keep changing old patterns of behavior like never
before, dunno what it means.....cleaning lady will be here today...Got the usual aches and pains....ah well....will catch up later on....take care.....

I did get my handicapped parking tag yesterday. They put the tag # on the back of my driver's license, so they had to make me a whole new license. Right now, I don't actually need the tag, but in the winter when my knee is cold....well, I'll probably be happy to have it.

When we got back from town, we found out that the water had been turned off for my area. When it finally came back, we had a "boil order" in effect...no idea how long that will last!!!! 🙄 If anyone is wondering: no, I do not keep bottled water at home.

I hope everyone has a fun day!
