I wanted to go out to M&S for scones, but I was waiting in for the electrician, who comes to do annual servicing... and he's just text to say he can't get here today.... now it;s racing towards 2pm.. the school traffic will start shortly, and I hate being caught up in that ..so I might still go this evening after the rush hour..the local M&S store stays open until 9pm

I've been sorting through yet more of the clothes I have been holding onto , some which have never been worn, and putting them into a big bag for Charity donation...

Think we've found a place for DD and I to have Christmas lunch, which we have a few days before the big day, we try and find a different place every year for our Mother & daughter lunch..it's quite difficult because it has to be usually half way between both of our homes because she doesn't like to leave her elderly chihuhua alone for more than a few hours.. and both of us are picky eaters.. but in different ways so restaurants or pubs have to be able to have extensive menus ..
However this year, the restaurants has to be close to where DD lives because it'll be the first time I'll be seeing all the new remodel of her house.. which should be finished by next month.. so go there to her home, then go to a really nice restaurant or pub within 20 miles of her home..

Anyway we might have found one... it's a village pub.. with a great menu.. and is already sold out for Christmas day, which shows how good it must be...

@hollydolly *I* can't wait to see your DD's newly remodeled house!

It's so cold in here that I don't even want to get dressed. Back in the olden days, when I was much younger, our house didn't have central heat. We had an oil-burning stove downstairs and registers in the ceiling so the heat could rise. If the stove had been off during the night, we'd just take our clothes downstairs and back up to the stove after it was lit to stay warm while getting dressed.

I have neither central heat nor an oil stove, just a space heater. Backing up to a 20" tall space heater isn't quite the same as backing up to a 4ft tall oil-burning oil stove. I mean, with the space heater, only the back of my legs from the knees down gets warm.

So whatever will I do when winter gets here?

Drama Queen.....:sneaky::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:.....

Lemme tell ya, it's so cold here that when I looked out the door, there was a line reaching all the way to the end of the garden of little bugs, some chipmunks and squirrels and a few baby lizards. They all had luggage and wanted to come in to spend a few days and nights until it warms up again.

abbut last year I wasn't as old as I am this year.

How's your DH doing today after his cataract surgery?
He's still wearing some funky goggles - he's hoping/expecting to get rid of those after his checkup today.

As for not being as old as we were last year, at book club last Wednesday one woman was bemoaning turning 65 soon. I smiled and said nothing but thought, "65? 65??? Cry me a river, sweetheart."

Yanno how yesterday I mentioned all those things you'd pay a cleaning fairy to clean? Yeah. Well. Today is the day I start cleaning them, not because I wouldn't rather be outside playing in the dirt, but because it's too darned cold to go outside and play in the dirt. I'll start at the top and work my way down to spot cleaning the carpet and wash the tile floors in the kitchen and bath.

I'm even going to...get ready for it...dust! Dust. I'm gonna dust!

I should be done here in Lilliput in about an hour.

I think that when people say 55... or 59..I'm already thinnking how young that is even now in my late 60's....:D

Finally baked my 2 Honeynut squashes. They're small, so 2 will do. Threw in a sweet potato too, Oh the carbs!
Have 'shrooms to make a small cream of 'shroom soup, maybe.

Walked doggie on another gorgeous autumn day.... cool, slight breeze and sunny. 46F this morning now, 55F the high. Haven't put my heat on yet, wearing sweatshirts and pants but no need for a jacket outside.

Hopefully an Amazon delivery coming today, can't wait for my seltzer.

@RadishRose, I’ve never heard of Honeynut squash. Are they like butternut squash?
I guess a little, in that they are tan in color. They are much smaller and quite sweet.

I've only noticed them over the last 3 years.

Apple crisp is in the oven as we speak. DGD and her BF went apple picking the other day, and she brought home a cr@pton of apples of all different varieties. What went into the crisp is anybody's guess, hoping not too many that aren't good cooking apples so that it turns out mushy.

I don't like being appointed to make something. In the case of the apple crisp, it's because I truly loathe peeling and trimming apples. However, it was either make the stuff or they'd spoil. Wasting food isn't good.

Now I'm gonna take a short nap until the timer goes off, then consult with my Bureau of the Budget in preparation for tomorrow's 🦅 :poop: event.
