Today. Is. The. Day!

I've been promising myself that when the weather cooled off, I would clean my car /trunk out. It's a blustery, pleasantly chilly autumn day and right after lunch Imma gonna tackle the job...

Also want to do some baking... I have a butternut squash and I'm going to go to town and get makings for a casserole or two. It's that time of year, YAY!

Both tasks completed! My car is so clean it looks like it's been to confession! lol ::doing a happy dance::

On my early walk this morning at 6:50 it was 42, with light drizzle as I went around the building once
After breakfast,I walked to Walgreens which took me a half hour, the sun was out thought the rain had gone for the day, Nope, when I walked across the street to take bus home it was lightly raining
I had no plans this afternoon just to stay in read NYT and my book until Marcia called me.She asked if I could dog sit my 'buddy boy' Tage for 1hr 1/2,she had a meeting south of the city, wouldn't be back until later. She dropped me off at the house at 2, had my key walked in, Tage was so happy to see me, guess he forgot I was with him last Thurs. He did his usual routine, running around livingroom, jumped on sofa waiting for his TLC. I rubbed his stomach and his nose, he calmed down right away, let out a sigh.
Marcia's husband, Dave got home around 3:45{ he's a social worker at one of the middle schools} he gave me a ride home as he was taking Tage to local park for a long walk.

Yippee! Doc said everything looks just fine, and I don't have to wear glasses except for the readers that I already have. Now I just have to learn not to reach for my glasses before getting out of bed in the morning. Doc said that's the first thing all her patients tell her. LOL

We might get a light frost tonight. Hope not because I don't want to go out there and cover up flowers. Not only "don't want to," I'm not going to!

I feel like I'm having a too-busy week but I guess it is good to wear myself out before cold weather comes. I had a doctor appointment Monday that I spent hours watching YouTube preparing my defense against being prescribed statins, but then the doctor said my numbers were fine. They're really kind of borderline, and now I am such a contrary person I'm wondering if he should have started me on a statin. Ha!

Then yesterday I went to the movies and saw 'The Wild Robot' and gave myself a headache from trying to not cry at the sad scene. The theater is beside a shopping mall that I'd never been to, so I went in and it looks like it is still an active mall, maybe kept alive by a Costco being in it. There was a UPS store conveniently located outside the mall, so I printed an email attachment (a pass to the White House for a tour in a couple weeks, woohoo!).

Today I went to an educational Egyptian sort of exhibition, and a guy I met at the clubhouse came with me, so I had the fun (if you can call it that) of explaining how to use the bus, buy a metro train ticket, ride the train, etc. I feel like such an old hand at that now, after having lived here almost 2 years. But then when we got back he kissed me on the cheek, so I'm not sure his and my definitions of going someplace 'just as friends' are the same. But, OTOH, might be the last kiss I ever get in my life so I guess I will not grump about it too much.

Then tomorrow I'm going on a day bus trip for lunch and theater show in Pennsylvania somewhere. I have to get up at an ungoshly hour to go, ugh.

Spent the morning cleaning out the fridge, washing with Dawn and bleach, wiping and restocking everything. Not my favorite chore but so glad it's done. Wait- I don't have a favorite chore. If I did, it wouldn't be a chore then, would it?

Another beautiful day; cool, sunny and a bit breezy. Doggie had more pep in her step as we walked the wooded path. Fed my squirrels their peanuts and set out a tray of water at the edge of the deck.

Wishing you all a peaceful and restful night. 🌜

Took the car in to have the winter tires put on. The tire shop stores and cleans them for us, for a fee. It makes it so much easier. Now I’m anxious for the next time to change them.

Voted early in the BC Provincial election. I’m so sick of the telephone calls and text messages and endless ads. Final day is Saturday. Next week it‘ll be analyzed to pieces.

The most exciting part of the day was a quick trip to the grocery store for milk and bread.

You have such eclectic days HT ...and i;m sure that won't be the last time you get kissed...:giggle:

im up and about, rained over night, its still drizzleing,,,im out early, get shopping done, get car washed, then finish tidying rest of house,,enjoy your day.
It's 6.45 am here, still dark I haven't even opened the blinds to see what the weather is doing, I can't hear any rain tho'.... I've got to go this morning to have my hair cut, not sure still whether to just have it trimmed or cut short..
The difficulty is they are student hairdressers albeit supervised by a Qualified hair stylist...but she's overseeing a dozen students at a time, so she can't just watch mine continuously...

I do always opt for level 3 students rather than first year.. so they have some experience under their belt... but I'm not sure a restyle is entirely within their capabilities...

I'll decide when I get there....

get it trimmed,

Off to the theatre today for 'A play, a pint and a pie' at the Lemon Tree. It's only a small theatre and unusually for these events, it's sold out, so the play must have got good reviews. Being 'crumblies', we can take the bus for free and will have time to do a bit of shopping, or at least have a look around. Just typical - after some miserable weather, the forecast for today is good. Hopefully I'll be back in the garden tomorrow.
