It's a glorious sunny day today..... I've got vac'd all through the house upstairs and down......stripped the bed, and got the bedding into the washer and I;ve got the washing on now.. nearly finished ...still missing my dryer very much tho'...

I'm still not feeling 100 %.. but better than I was..

I'm just about to hang the washing out, then I'm going to have chunky smoked Haddock chowder for lunch... then I'll remake the bed...

Just a driv-by post for now. I wanted to pop in and say good morning!

Now, I'm off to my mammogram appointment.

Right the washing is out on the line... I hope the sun stays out long enough for it to dry... gets dark now at 5.50pm...

I've got to try and juggle some furniture around in the spare room to get the new shoes rack in... yesterday I decided to have a coat clearance, and I took every coat I own out of the closet and put 6 in the Donation bag.. but the rest are still lying on top of the Ottoman chest.. because I'm going to transfer the coats out onto another rail.. so in the meantime, the shoe rack is waiting for a space, and I can hardly move in that room...for furniture...

Today is sunny and will be in the seventies like the last two days. Tomorrow should be the same. On Thursday, it will still be sunny, but it is predicted to be 10 degrees cooler, still lovely, but getting colder.

I have laundry, shopping, etc. piling up but can't resist taking in the warmth while I have it. For the last two days I've been walking around my local park, sitting on my favorite bench which is directly in the sun, and reading. I guess I will today too, possibly tomorrow. I'll handwash some "delicates" to see me through till I finally do my laundry.

Love the sun. Love the heat. It's a blessing.

Did I tell y'all that Social Security sent me a letter telling me my benefit has been reduced by $1/month? Yeah. Seems like I made "too much" money in 2023, and it's caught up with me. Dang. A dollar! Whatever shall I doooo?
Puzzling, perhaps you are younger than I thought?

What happens if I work and get Social Security retirement benefits?

Starting with the month you reach full retirement age, you can get your benefits with no limit on your earnings.

SS, I stopped watching baseball after my divorce... no fun anymore, but I've always been a NY Yankee fan since I was a child. Don't blame you for liking the Dodgers since you live in L.A. now and after all, the Dodgers came from Brooklyn! :D
My father grew up in Brooklyn and was a Dodger fan for many years. After they left, he started rooting for the Yankees (the Mets were pathetic). When the family moved to LA, he was thrilled to cheer on his childhood favorite!

I went to many, many Yankees, Mets & Dodger games over the years. ❤️ DH is a baseball fan, but (thank heavens) not a rabid one. We generally watch the playoffs and WS, plus an occasional game during the season.

gOT MY NEW C.C. DELIVERED, NOW TO INFORM ALL THE PLACES I USE IT, MAINLY GROCERY/AMAZON/PHARMACY.... :p
I have card numbers stored with Amazon, but everywhere else I always enter the info. I'm not saying it helps keep them any more secure, but I'm stubborn about not recording them with anyone.

Yes, I know that I'm inconsistent about this.

I recently added a new card to help raise my credit rating. Not that I plan on borrowing soon, I just want to get closer to the high score on those pinball machines.

You have to use it in order for it to matter, and long-term unused cards often get closed now anyway. So I started using the new card in the rotation and didn't find any obstacles.

You should be fine.

Happy Tuesday, October 22nd, fellow SFers!
Now, I'm off to my mammogram appointment.

Trila, thanks for the push. After reading your post I scheduled my annual physical - on Halloween, of all dates! Oh well, I'm glad to have gotten an appointment so soon and I quite like my doctor.

Also am due for a colonoscopy. Scheduled that for mid-November. (My sister is a rectal cancer survivor, so all siblings are advised to be tested every 5 years.) I'm more concerned about the sedation than the test, TBH. Also scheduled a mammogram for mid-November. And I have a dental cleaning appointment that month. Good grief, Charlie Brown! I'll be plenty tired of body-care appointments by the time Thanksgiving rolls around!

Did a load of laundry (towels and sheets) yesterday. They should be dry enough to fold and put away this morning, and I'll start another load. This will be a busy week - infant GS tomorrow 💜 and TGS Thursday morning through Friday evening. 💜

Hope all goes well trila... I know some women have a problem having the mammogram, and find it uncomfortable or painful...fortunately I never have !
Thanks Dolly....yes, I am one of those women. I complained to my doctor that I am the only woman that I know of that has to take painkillers for 3 days, following a mammogram!!!

At least it's over.....until next year!

You and I must be sisters! I do NOT tolerate mammograms well!!!!

I also have a colonoscopy coming up. I'm on the 5 year plan, too. Like you, it's the anesthesia that concerns me.

I am glad that you made your appointments though. Better safe than sorry, no matter how much we don't like the procedure. I hope all goes well for you! 💖
