Gosh, Sue you finished a NYT crossword in only 40 minutes? Years ago I used to do the Sunday crossword from my local paper, but it took me lots longer than that. The NYT is always difficult, I'm impressed! @moviequeen1
HI RadishRose, I've been doing the daily NYT crossword puzzle since late 70's,can finish Mon&Tues, once in awhile I can finish Weds. The puzzle gets harder as the week goes along Sue

Yard helper showed up on time. SO thinks four high beds will be installed today. But he has a 5:30 meeting! I am always sweating the small stuff:>)
Four beds are in and two of them ready for planting. Hello garlic! Two more to go but they require taking a dry river of big cats heads up. No rush!
The last sunflower has four heads! Habaneros are still ripening.
Izzi's new cat tree arrived early and SO is open to replacing two more.
Sugo is bubbling.
New medication seems to be working. I can breathe!
Life is good!!!

I'm like you Sue, I love Crosswords, there's rarely a day when I don't complete at least one if not more.. I've been a big fan since I was quite young...

@StarSong I dread my yearly physical now since Kaiser has decreed that it's a physical only. If there are any questions, we have to make separate appointments for. each. question. No kidding.

@Babs2u and @hearlady The trouble with the advice about not raking or blowing the leaves off the lawn is that if you live in a very wet climate (like here), the leaves rot and get moldy, which promotes fungus. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't.
DH will pick those up with the sweeper before they get fungus and after most have fallen.

~ Updated my budget spreadsheet and finished balancing my checkbooks. I started the latter a week ago and meant to finish the next day.
~Started the album release process on CD Baby, which is tedious. I need to contact customer service to get clarity about a few things in question so I won’t finish tonight.

~Did my (ADD) version of binge watching Bridgerton S3; two and a half episodes today...have two more to go.
~Refilled two pill cases.

~I also wrapped the unopened half gallon of ice cream in two bags, one taped up, to make it a PITA for me to get to. I really overdid it with ice cream these last few weeks.
~Now I have to go finish emptying the dishwasher, then reload (one of my least favorite chores). 😒 I may run it tonight or wait until in the morning.

Maybe the two inch limit is for fluffy, airy leaves. A good rain would compact them, though. I give up. Most of my leafy area doesn't have much grass anyway.

Hello. This morning's breakfast-begging cat started at 3:45. You read that right. I gave in at 4:15, then went back to bed. Sadly for me, I'm one of those people who's up when I'm up so going back to bed was a waste of time.

We've been promised rain this time. Promised. It's supposed to start tonight around 10, but it's an 87% chance, raining all night, and an 85% chance of rain all day tomorrow.

Sure. We've had predictions of 100% rain that didn't happen.

This is such a big deal after no rain whatsoever since September 29, that the news dude just said that their chief meteorologist will be on tv all night to keep us updated about the "severe weather." What? It's going to rain. That's not "severe weather." It's just weather.

We're trucking off to do some Walmarting this morning.

Well it's a sunny morning...ish again a little breezy. 11am.. different day aready than yesterday.

Amazon have returned my money for the original Stratos Shark Vac... and the company I bought the new one from are sending out someone to collect tomorrow, and new one to be delivered.. so that's a good start to the morning. Also my new Vintage Strand Magazine Hardback book ( leather bound)..nay , TOME from 1895..has arrived. A little worn around the edges of the cover and spine , but no foxing on the pages ... Incredible condition for a 130 year old book ..and extremely heavy.......

I'm just having a cuppa tea, then I'll get out and go and pick up some milk and fruit.... in town...

Grass Inspector ?..what ? 😲

HD & GG, yep that is correct, the city has some fool that actualy
goes around seeing how high your grass is!!! 2 yrs ago I got a
letter threat of eviction for my grass being 8 inches high, no
leeway given for lots and lots of rain during that period, so now
I'm scared of it happening again....what a job to have huh?!

On my early walk at 6:45, a tad nippy temp was 34 as I walked around the building one time before breakfast
This morning going to take bus to Target see what items are on sale
The rest of my day take another walk in afternoon, read NYT. I'm having dinner in dining room tonight with friend Connie whomever else she invited. After dinner&shower tackle today's NYT crossword puzzle, see if there is anything on TV to watch

Wow..unbelievable, that might even be worse than traffic wardens. People like you who are elderly, sick, and on their own, can't possibly manage to keep grass cut when there's been a lot of rain....I understand trying to keep a neighbourhood tidy..but good grief.. :cautious:

I guess I'm lucky that I'm usually already up before 3 a.m. when my cat is hungry. She's good sometimes though in that if I happen to be asleep, or go back to sleep after my son leaves (3:30), she'll let me rest. Or sometimes she literally slaps me upside the back of my head.

You may have seen or heard about the wildfires we are having here in the northeast. We were in a drought too and it finally rained a little a couple of nights ago. Hopefully you'll get the much needed rain. Did my Walmart run in September when Discover had 5% cashback. I enjoy going, but only do so about 3 times a year. Other times, my son shops for me. Enjoy your retail therapy.
:D

Well that's me I'm not planning to do another thing today. I've called the Vac company and discussed with them strategies for returning and delivering... I've done the big grocery shopping and put all that away in freezers and cupboards ..I've washed up.. I've put away all the dried laundry... and I've done all my online banking....and its only 2.30pm... the sun is still shining but it's not dried the grass , I was hoping to be able to get the last cut in... but alas no....so that's me done for today...

I unloaded 100# of horse feed, 40# of dog feed, and 75 # of bagged custom hay from my car, so I can go grocery shopping.

I really do need to take the truck to find out why the check engine light is flashing. It could mean nothing like the check belt light on the 4-wheeler was nothing, or it could just quit and leave me stranded somewhere 🤯🤐🤯🤐

Heavy rain is allegedly coming my way - I’ll believe it when I see it. We are in for a cool down, but nothing to where I have to turn on the heat or flip the switch on the water tubs at the barn. This has been a warm and dry November for many areas of the U.S.

Peanut butter —- I LOVE peanut butter. I don’t eat meat (goes back to my childhood 😂😂, so Peanut butter is my protein source.

I thought of you @Georgiagranny when I was in the Aldi "aisle of shame".... LOL. The prices in that aisle aren't all that great, at least here.
I find that, too, though DD and her friends love it. More than the prices though, I ask myself three questions before buying non-food items:

Do I actually need that?
Do I really even want it?
Where am I going to store it?

A very long time I ago I realized that (for me) more material things are often like little children on playgrounds:
Enjoyment can come from simply admiring things where they. No need to adopt them and bring them home.

Just as I already have three children and four grands and don't need more, I already own more crap than I care to dust. Don't need more.
