Do you have the bliss of ignorance?

I so envy the ignorant & unimaginative fools whose minds remain uncluttered, who must actually make a conscious effort to even find the right words to use to describe the most commonplace of things.
What joy, what relief, what bliss and what blessed silence there must exist in an empty mind!

I just have to ask....What brought that up? l can only think of peop[e in a coma in the hospital. Hardly anyone to envy. There's a story here and l hope it's not too sad.

In the Buddhist monastery I live in, there is the ignorance that precedes thought, and the stillness that a trained mind has after thought. :)

No sad story here.
The thought popped into my head as I think of some people I know who seem not to worry about anything at all.
They go about their life, not concerned at all about anything going on around them, or around the world.
Just their own little life and they do seem happy/content being that way.

Nor have I. I have met hundreds of Buddhist's who practice mindfulness, and meditate daily. It is an on going practice to find a balance of our active mind and our intuitive mind. No one I have ever met has been 100% content. :) A little rain falls on everyone.

There is a Category on the SF called "Suggestions for Spiritual Awakening Audios" It has 15 pages of many methods to find peace of mind.

I'm not clear what this thread is about. We all know people who are so self-absorbed that they only think of themselves with no regard to the pain and joys that others about them are experiencing.

Then there are people who don't even care about their own lives enough to try and effectively navigate life's twists and turns. They just blindly go about their days and let happen what may.

I hope not to be in either category.

I'd rather be able to think and problem solve even if I find it oppressive at times.

When some slime has their foot up your ass just remember you asked for it!

Really though, if you thing the world really car'es about most all of it, you got to be kidding yourself.
Sure you got bleeding hearts everywhere. Go Fund Me explains it. Whine about something and Go Fund Me takes care
for some $1000's of course tax deducted and just for someone too.

Stand at the designated corner and with a sign, a shopping cart, backpack full of bottled refreshment, lunch and a limp panhandle.

It might be nice to be oblivious to what is going on around me and in the world because it might cause me less stress on a day-to-day basis. However, it would ultimately cause more stress because what is going on in those areas could eventually affect my quality of life (politics, finances, medicine, weather patterns, etc.) so I cannot afford to be oblivious.

There are some negative aspects to that sort of bliss, to both the blissful and those near them, but this isn't the right thread to air them.

Well, they say ignorance is bliss. I always thought it was a clever thing to say, but that no one actually believed it.
There's some truth in it I am sure. While you and I may argue over the election results Bretrick is sitting contently enjoying the warmth of the sun and moving his Swan Lager closer within his reach.
