How is your day Today, plans and achievements 2024....

December 6, 2023 while on AccessARide, I was assaulted by another, female, passenger. For the first three months of the New Year of 2024 I was in excruciating pain due to blood clots in my legs, enduring unsuccessful surgeries until they got it right.

Many wonderful things happened the rest of the year.

Yet, that one assault sent me on a downward spiral. I never got satisfaction from AccessARide, and never will, despite interventions made by professionals on my behalf.

It's time to let go of 12/6/23. I didn't realize the scope of this, didn't realize the lasting effects. It's time to let go of many other things. It's time.

Have doctor's appt. this morning, then just want a quiet day, a peaceful New Year's Eve. Happy New Year to all who view this post.

It's morning again, the last morning of 2024. I'm an old people; therefore, I get to say what old people are expected to say: where has the time gone?

It's gonna be another nice day here before the weather starts going downhill and actually being winter. Right now it's 54F, and I drank my coffee on the patio.

No plan for the day yet because while I'm awake, my brain isn't.

I had a very productive day yesterday! Wal-Mart in the morning, and I transplanted some things in the Fairy Garden in the afternoon. With several walks filling the time in between.

Today I'm going to the gym, and then to the small grocery store to get milk for my Mom. I guess she has this "crud" that has been going around, so she doesn't feel like going out. She said that milk is the only thing she actually needs.

Right now it's cloudy and over cast, and VERY windy. I'm hoping that it clears off so that I can finish the last bit of gardening this afternoon.

Afternoon folks... another grey day for the last day of the year

I ordered some printer ink early December and it hasn't arrived yet, so I emailed the compnay , they said it had been delivered on the 16th, and provided tracking details.. but it never came here... so I told them that, and also stated I have a Video ring door bell and on inspection no-one came to my door to deliver anything on the 16th..or even the day after..

This is particularly fustrating because I have delieveries all the time..and they're free postage... but with this company I had to pay half of the price of the inks for delivery and it hasn't got here..
still waiting for the reply..

An assault must be a terrible experience to live with. I'm glad you are putting in the effort to heal yourself.
Talk about it here if you want. You're strong pepper!

Good morning, all. DH & I had TGS (now 3 years old so more like @-Oy-'s "Likkle" age), Sunday. He went home Sunday evening, but DD's two kids (9-12) came to spend the night. They went home yesterday and GS is coming back today. He'll go home late afternoon-ish, before the big-time partiers start hitting the roads.

Today is an otherwise ordinary day around here. Other than an excuse to throw or attend a party, NYE was never any big whoop. We attend or host lots of parties and gatherings from Thanksgiving through NYE, no need to host another, nor to stay up until midnight.

Hope all stay safe during this holiday. May the new years bring good health, happiness and peace to your personal lives, fellow SFers. Peace in the world is definitely not in the cards in 2025. No use asking for it.

I believe that's @-Oy- ...

We are having one of our many social activities for the residents who are interested, and single. (This one is being hosted by our singles group). We are having a lasagna dinner downstairs in the party room, followed by a showing of My Cousin Vinny (one of my favorite movies, I can't watch it enough times), we get a glass of wine or another beverage if desired, so it's a sober but friendly event. At midnight, those who are still awake and present will watch the Times Square celebration. I will probably be snug in bed by then (unless "Vinny" runs really late).

A group of friends have reserved a table, so I'll be with people I enjoy. At this stage of life, what better way is there to celebrate this holiday?

A very happy new year to all my friends on this forum! 🎆

Lately it hasn't been too cold (about -5C/23F night, +5C/41F day), but it's been overcast a lot. Fairly dim days. Although we've had a couple of one-foot in a day snowfalls, these have now melted back to about five inches of slightly slushy stuff on the ground.

What I'm saying is that at our elevation, about 1500ft above sea level, the snow isn't in decent shape for cross-country skiing. That's an outdoor activity I like in winter... gets my circulation going & gives me exercise out in the fresh air.

I do get outside around our place some each day, and we do see friends during any given week. Plus, I have indoor things I do. Such as working with others on our board to renovate our river-conservation group's finance accounting system.

I'm not a big TV watcher, and I enjoy coming here to SF. But I'm yearning for better snow for skiing.

Relaxed but pleasantly productive day here...

Wash, cooking ahead, took books to library for up-coming book sale, and planning a more organized cleaning schedule for 2025. (We'll see how long that lasts, ha)

Also trying to make a dent in my reading to pass courses to have my nursing license renewed. This will probably be the last time I'll do it. (Has to be renewed every two years.)

Bored witless. So bored that I'm rewatching Desperate Housewives. Gonna bingewatch the whole series.
well, just think..you're far from alone, there's all of us alone too.....just with various diferent views... ( not perspectives ) literal views... :D

Someone started letting off fireworks at 2pm this afternoon... jeez the poor animals..
