What's for dinner ( or lunch )

For lunch this Sunday while watching the Eagles/Rams snow fest playoff game, mic'd one of these $1.16 cost 12oz frozen broccoli floret packages. Then added margarine and salt washed down with whole milk. One of our healthiest vegetables to regularly consume.

I will note those $1.16 Walmart Great Value broccoli florets like other inexpensive frozen packaged brands actually contain a fair amount of less enjoyable stalks than say $3 Bird's Eye package of florets. Thus upon mic'ing a package, I immediately knife slice up all chunks. Broccoli also is possibly why some of we life long bunny-like eaters have not yet succumbed to cancers.

Broccoli and other cruciferous veggies can significantly lower cancer risks

“With broccoli, specifically, there is a high amount of a phytochemical called sulforaphane, which is a cancer-fighting plant compound that has been linked to reducing the risks of prostate cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer and oral cancers.” Sulforaphane is also found in other vegetables such as kale, cabbage and garden cress. It is also present in cauliflower.

Happy Burns Night :)

Venison Haggis - Mmmmmm... 😋

View attachment 398994
this really peed me off... because that's a tradition I like to go to every Burns birthday.. our pub serves up a wonderful haggis in a whisky cream sauce ( i don't have the sauce)..with neeps and tatties, but I had to be at the hospital on the 24 th and today I just didn't feel like going out after all the trauma

BTW roast spuds with haggis?...noooooooo.....lol

I had one little cake from the tray....the little one in the middle of the tray at the back. It's like tiny cream cake with icing and chcolate on the top, but inside is ice cold blackcurrent cream.... yum... I don't know if all the ladies have brought home made food.. they tend to at those Romanian parties, or if they've bought those from Romanian stores but I've never seen those in any of our supermarkets...

it's been raining all day and it's cold so, comfort food today! Porridge this morning and for a late lunch we had sausage muffins with some ketchup. Not sure if we will have space for the salmon I planned to cook this evening!
