We have our canning pot downstairs as well as all our glass jars. It all gets brought upstairs when we are doing our canning. We keep the canner (23 Ltr) / the dehydrator / the jam making pan the 2 little cookers in the island bench so they are not cluttering up my kitchen cupboards …..they wouldn’t fit in my kitchen cupboards anyway .
We've also got the buckets we use for the outside fruit drying in the same island bench ,so they only see the light of day in fruit season ~ so it’s all nicely packed out of sight no dust gets in them .,no pests
talking about that haven’t seen a mouse in a long time ….they can stay away from me ….cause I scream if I see one
It’s the same when we are making maple syrup. All our maple syrup pots and pans get brought upstairs. Luckily maple syrup is only about 2 weeks long. Today we are deep cleaning our kitchen. Maple syrup making is a sticky, dirty job but worth the mess. So far we have 8 1/2 lites of dark maple syrup that tastes delicious.
