Please pray

Ask, and you shall receive.
It is done.
I've prayed for your friend and all of the people in the path of the fires.
I haven't given God any instructions. Now we have to trust.

Those who do not pray, WISH for outcomes beneficial to those beleaguered. I wish for the best possible. imp

Denise I haven't seen Mrs Robinson posts for a few days have you mailed her to check all is ok? I'm sure all is well but just to put your mind at rest you should mail her!! :)

These natural disasters are awful.

I always think about the people who are involved
in them, it must be very frightening, I always say
a little prayer.

Mike.

Holly, she has been posting on Facebook with her fire updates. Getting real close to her and she said that they had packed what they needed and are ready to go if given the word. She has also had other problems. Will not discuss this as it is personal. Pappy.

My daughter and wife are going to California in about two weeks to visit my wife's sister near Petaluma. I hope that area is not about to burn too. I hope they do get some rain and put all fires out all over the north western states. Maybe without all us people jamming up the world those fires would be considered good for the earth. But now with so many of us hanging around the fires can be very troublesome.

nwlady, Whatsisname, the Father of My Children, lives in the same little town as Mrs. Robinson. He said yesterday afternoon that there was no wind, not even a breeze, the fire was 25 miles away from them, and the worst they were suffering was the smoke so couldn't go outside. He and his wife also have all their documents together and are ready to leave at the drop of a hat if necessary. That town is so small, that as of yesterday, Mrs. Robinson was not in danger.

Don't forget that they also have the lake, a place where the fire would have to stop.

Geez, once the fires are finally contained and the weather cools off, then El Nino is supposed to move in. Let's hope that it brings only rain, not torrential, flooding rain.

That's a relief Georgia...glad to hear they're not in immediate danger. I know all about these fires my daughter has the same problem on the mountain where she lives in the summer with the bush fires. It's scary!!

Yes darlin, she is ok at this point, I did read one message on Facebook lastnight that set me to praying. I also check the fire info on that area here Holly: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=latest+news+on+Lakeport+CA+fires&ei=UTF-8

…and I'm joining you. It's so sad.

Thank you Lara, so much, I know Ginna will appreciate it.

Check that link I gave Holly above Bob, there is also fire.ca.gov but that was not up-to-date by lastnight:(

That was one of the "contained" fires too, but the heat, plus drought, it's like a matchbox sitting close to a flame. No wind at this time thank God, but do check out the videos, it give me a whole, new understanding:( I'm glad some folks are preparing as Mrs. R's family is. Some got caught before they could prepare.

Thanks for that link Denise, it's definitely scary, I see that they have regular fires there every year, home insurance policies must be very expensive in that area !!

Hi everybody! I am fine! Just so heartbroken about everyone`s losses. A young couple we know lost their new 4500sq.ft. home on Saturday. She suddenly saw the fire approaching and called Cody hysterical (he is a lineman with my son in law and was already ready called out to work). He told her to get the cash out of the safe and get out. She stood in their horse arena and watched their house burn to the ground. They are expeting their first baby in 10 days. She had to be taken to the hospital as she was so distraught-they lost everything. Thankfully they have a place to stay and my daughter is keeping their dogs. Another friend (been friends since high school) was evacuated and is trying to find a place to stay. Right now they are about 90 miles away but need to get closer to home. They have no idea if their home survived or not. My friends daughter passed away in April of breast cancer, leaving my friend to raise her four children, all under 12. She also has her 90 yo mom living with her,who has dementia. And a useless husband, whom she despises. And now she also has the children`s stepfather with her,as the house he shared with her daughter and the kids, was lost in the fire. Kelly had left that house to her kids-a part of her-but now it is gone. Those poor kids have had so much trauma in their lives this past year. But as for us,we are fine. Just keep hoping our neighborhood manages to escape any new fire starting-we are nothing but dry grass and trees out here....

BobF-Petaluma will be fine. Totally different landscape, highly unlikely there would be any wildfires there.

I am pretty sure that by next year, homeowner`s insurance is going to be outrageous in this area,if even available....especially in neighborhoods like mine-very rural, lots of dry grass and trees and dependent on low producing wells.

Good to hear. At least YOU didn't make the news, only the area.

Stay Safe!

It was good to hear from you Mrs. Robinson, I have been wondering how you are doing. We have had a bit of rain here this morning in central Calif. mts. We need more and it needs to cover the entire state! Our fire here is large (138,000 acres) but it hasn't taken down the structures and homes like is happening in the other fires. I don't know if we'll have to evacuate but some of our family and friends have.

I am doing well,by the way. Still pretty sore but at least not so tired. I was needing to nap for hours every day and I just don`t have time for that! Went to our annual sports foundation dinner Saturday night and that was a bit difficult because everyone in town wanted to give me big hugs. Ummm, hug the right side please-the left is pretty darn sore lol. It felt really good to see how many people care though-people that I generally just say hi to in the grocery store were telling me how they had been following my daughter`s updates and praying for me. Love our small town!

Mrs. Robinson, here is a right sided hug from me. I'm glad to see your posts. The photo of your friend's house brings tears to my eyes and I know its happened multiple times over during these fires! Seeing the photos and videos makes them really touch our hearts. Did you get rain up there? I feel so hopeful with all the rain we've gotten today, even though it hasn't been pouring, it's still wet and it's been coming down on and off. :)

This is so sad. Beautiful Lake County has been devastated. The town of Middletown sounds like it's being wiped out. My step father's brother, who is no longer alive, had a nice place there he sold. I'm afraid it's not standing anymore and I'm so sorry for all those that have lost their homes. I worry about pets and wildlife also.

I now pray that plenty of rain will fall right away and fires be extinguished, towns and homes be spared and people and animals all be safe.

I send prayers/healing wishes to all creatures human and otherwise, who have been, or could be sadly affected by these terrible fires. Time for a rain dance, and lots of drumming! Couldn't hurt.:love_heart:
