Are you streaming ( or binge watching ) any series on Netflix, or any other service? Tell us about it.

The lengths Bertha will go to to marry off her daughter to wealth alone makes it worth the watch. We're only on Episode 2 of Season 2 and the uncomfortable scenes during some of the get-togethers are cringe-worthy.
Julian Fellows is good at those things. He's listed as the creator. I assume he must exert control over script, because his fingerprints are all over the series.

That's so sad to hear. :D Now you have no Ballard for today! I'm trying to limit my Ballard eps to 1 a day, maybe 2. I also just borrowed the first Ballard ebook from my local library and am reading it on my Kindle. šŸ“–
That’s the way I handle it too. I believe I’ve read the first two books. I’d like to, but it makes me dizzy.

I felt the same way about Season Two of Squid Game. Because Season One was so good, I watched all of Season Two, hoping it would get good at some point. It didn't.

I actually tried the first episode of Season Three but won't be going any further. I've been burned before.
I've been debating trying Season 2 of Squid Game. I loved Season 1. I didn't expect to and tried it only on the recommendation of my older daughter, then I binged the entire series within a week.

I was really annoyed that they left Season 1 open for a sequel, but I was not entirely surprised, because of course the dollar is king, and if they can get more money from a sequel they will.

From what you and @Trade have said, @Medusa, I'll likely give Seasons 2 and 3 a pass.

Right now I'm watching The Waterfront and loving it. Very over-the-top and escapist.

I had the same experience with trying Season One of Squid Game. I did not expect to like it and then couldn't stop watching.

You're definitely safe skipping the subsequent seasons. Hope you enjoy, The Waterfront. :)

Just finishes 'Ballard' on Prime. Definitely worth the time! I really hope there is a S02.
Just wrapped it up tonight too. I’m sure there’ll be a season 2. All of Connelly’s stories have been popular.

It’ll probably take about 1.5 years. If it were regular TV, they’d have done a season’s worth, wrapped up at the end of May and have a new season in October. I hate waiting.

I recently started watching The Stick on Apple TV. It's with Owen Wilson as a former golf pro who had a meltdown on the course after his chid died. The other actor is Marc Maron, a podcaster I've listened to since podcasting first began. His life story is interesting, and lately he's been doing this sort of acting. The show is pretty good. Only half an hour only 10 episodes.

Hadn't heard of that one, Marcy. Will check it out.

It’s not on NF yet, but I’m looking forward to a new Chuck Lore series, Leanne. The star is Leanne Morgan, a standup comic. If you don’t recognize the name, you’d know her by her accent. It drops July 31st.

She was on Marc Marion’s podcast recently.

@Marcy Sheiner, you probably listened to this one.
That's good news, I think. Leanne Morgan is my favorite comedienne. She's a riot in stand-up, but it will be interesting to see if she can have the same effect in a sitcom. Reportedly it premieres on July 31 on Netflix.

Only Murders in the Building. I'm watching Season 4, and it's still hilarious. Sounds unlikely that anyone can make a comedy series about murders taking place in a New York apartment house, but they've pulled it off. The success of this series is largely due to the three actors playing oddball residents of the building who keep solving the murders, and doing a much better job of investigating than the police department. The frustrated cop in charge is also very funny.

The three would-be detectives who keep solving the murders are played by Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. Their comic timing is priceless.

Just one more episode to go in White Lies. I don’t even know what channel I’m watching it on. Someone here recommended it and I found it On Demand.

One of my favourite things about series set in foreign locations is seeing the settings. This is really well done. Since I’ve guessed so many conclusions, I’ll be able to say I got it right no matter who did it.

I began "Blindspot" on Netflix, the story line looked unique but they lost me when the story became redundant. They had a good thing going the 1st 2 seasons, then it looked desperate in script writing to keep it going.

I couldn't help noticing how the creator of Blindspot (Martin Gero) took a lot of cues from the series 24 (2001-2014, 9 seasons):

Hardly 10 minutes go by without some heavy action crisis or shoot-em-up, followed by new twists. Even the number of episodes are similar to 24: 23 in first season, 22 in second.

And the dramatic music is likely wholly inspired by 24's award winning score by the great Sean Callery, who wrote the book on using music to gradually build up the tension to a pounding rhythmic frenzy in each of the action scenes.

One has to park one's sense of logic to consume the story line, but it's a watchable series on a base level. And one has to really suspend one's belief in casting the delicate looking Jaimie Alexander as a hidden kung fu commando babe, who can dispatch 6'3" 250 lb. bruisers with hardly breaking a sweat... šŸ˜„

We've not yet finished the first season, but I can see how the series could become redundant, as you say.

I'm watching the documentary about Billy Joel on HBO/MAX. I guess it's a series, though it's only two episodes. The second one hasn't aired yet, and I'm still watching the first one. (It's long, over 2 hours). I like his music a lot, and this documentary, directed by Tom Hanks, is excellent. I was really glad they did the whole song "Piano Man," without chopping it up and just playing little bits of it.

He's an interesting guy, who has had a very interesting life. I was sorry to hear of his medical problems. But I'm happy to know he's still with us.

@Sunny, I started the Billy Joel doc bc I too love his music, but I got a little bored halfway thru and stopped. I plan to go back to it though.

As for his medical problems, he has hydrocephalus, which my son was born with (he's about to turn 60 next week). Some babies are born with it, other people acquire it as seniors. I was stunned by the news about BJ.

Watching ā€œOutback ERā€ on Amazon. Very good. (Word of caution— real medical situations… blood, fractures, CPR, etc. can be distressing if you are not used to that kind of thing)

I've really been looking for a good mystery and found The Survivors on Netflix.

Two men drown at the beginning of the show and one man survives. He moves away to Sydney but returns to his small town with his girlfriend and their baby. He is confronted for returning because he is blamed for the lives of the other two mean. At the same time the two men drowned, a young woman disappeared. The case hasn't been resolved.

Meanwhile, another young lady's body is found on the beach, which may be connected to the disappearance. There is lots going on, but it so far seems great and it is Australian which makes it even better in my book.

l am binge watching LOST, but not on any service other than my own DVD player. Of course l know that LOST was filmed on Oahu and you'd think l'd be excited about that and l was except after l wached a few of the early episodes which then l didn't like so much. After much later l started watching LOST again and not only did l like it, l loved it ! And l missed so many episodes
that l decided to purchase the whole lot and binge watch the entire series. l am enjoying it.
