What Was the Last Movie You Watched?

Woman Wanted | FULL MOVIE | Holly Hunter, Kiefer Sutherland, Michael Moriarty | Romantic Drama

YouTube free...

A new woman comes between a widower and his adult son. Woman Wanted is directed by Kiefer Sutherland.

I would rate it about 6.6....but it didn't do to well in general with about a 5.0 rating.
What do you think? Acting was very good. Inexpensive to make...no special effects. :)

Insomnia.
Psychological thriller. Al Pacino, Hillary Swank, Robin Williams. (2002)
Two LAPD detectives are sent to a remote Alaskan town to aid in the investigation of a horrific teen murder.
While closing in on the murderer, officer Will Dormer's (Pacino) partner is killed and officer Dormer is compromised by the calculated mind games of the primary suspect, Walter Finch. (Williams).
Sleep deprived and guilt ridden over his role in the death of his partner, Dormer must outmanoeuvre a brilliantly idealist local cop. (Swank)
Somebody should have bought officer Will Dormer a sleep mask. That would have solved his sleep problems. :ROFLMAO:

I watched Oppenheimer a few months ago. I did not want to sit through a 3 hours movie in a theater so I waited until I could get the DVD from the public library and watched it at home. That was much more convenient than three hours in a theater seat.

I liked the movie, but I don’t think it was as good as the hype led me to believe.

Next movie to get the DVD for will be Project Hail Mary.

I watched the movie "Getaway" on Netflix because I am a fan of Ethan Hawke. He's been in some really good movies. But not this one. It's a real stinkeroo. I couldn't even finish it.

I recently watched Operation Seawolf. Well, not really: just the first 10 minutes so I could see a CGI portrayal of Olympic (looking very cool in her wartime dazzle paint) ramming and sinking the U-103. I'd never known that (1) an ocean liner could ram a sub or (2) that you could "abandon ship" on a submerged U-boat.

I'll probably go back and watch the rest at some point.

I really liked that movie. I did some investigating after watching it and learned these Rental Families are a real thing in Japan. Who knew???
Actually i knew before i watched it. Not sure if they did all things the Agency in the movie, but i knew they do escorting of single people to social events and such. Frasier the first appeal of the movie, he was so good in 'The Whale', but seeing how they handled it a draw too.

I will be glad when "Pressure", story of Eisenhower & D-Day, has done it's time in theaters and hits streaming. Tho not a perfect physical match in terms of what kind of man he is Frasier seemed a good pick to play 'Ike' and trailers support that IMO.

Shiva Baby on Netflix. It got very good reviews, but I thought it was overrated. It started out as a comedy but then kept branching out into other genres, and I think whoever wrote it couldn't decide what kind of movie it was supposed to be. Sorry I wasted the time.

But on the good side, I've been watching the series Nurse Jackie for the second time. Enjoying it just as much as I did the first time. The acting in that is incredible!

Thanks for the link. I did have to search but was perfect black and white.
The humour is out of this world now as we know it...masterpiece.

I didn't catch all of the dialogue when they spoke fast and of course no captions and of course my old ears even with hearing aids are not topform.
Glad you liked it, Mizmo. I know what you mean about bit being able to hear dialogue. Generally when I can't get subtitles, I use a good set of head phones, which really works.

You might get yourself a pair that plugs into the TV. Most TVs have a head phone port.

I did try the headphones a couple of year ago and they did not work for me.
Ears are at a different level of hearing.
The sound was better than my hearing aids but my trouble is definition when people speak fast and most people do.
With some people it is almost like a foreign language.
I sort of work with the captions and the voices but now finding that a bit stressful on the eyes
All just due to my ancient age:LOL:

I have just become aware of the fact that this old Mac OS has the ability to convert voice to captions which will be good for movies on the computer such as these. Just have to do some investigating to see how it is done.
Tomorrow is another day...

Just watched the below free scifi movie on YouTube that may not have a name or is The Void.

Malcolm MacDowell is the bad guy creating a dangerous micro black hole. Amanda Tapping from Star Gate SG-1 is the hero. Well done low budget film.

I rarely watch movies but in honor of Memorial Day, last night I watched Flags of our Fathers and Windtalkers. It was hard to watch them through and I was tempted to turn them off part-way in. Both well-done but perhaps too real.

We Were Soldiers on Paramount+, staring Mel Gibson, Greg Kinnear, and Sam Elliot. It was about the Battle of Ia Drang, which was the most deadly battle of the Vietnam war up until that point. It might have been more interesting if they focused on the helicopter missions than ground combat, but it was okay.

Both are based on real events not just set during WWII. Eastwood made a 2nd movie revolving around the Battle for Iwo
Jima, told from Japanese POV. It was called Letters from Iwo Jima. Daughter and i watched both same day. Very good, but like you said difficult, emotionally, to watch.
