I mean at a certain age...I'm looking at a mere 54 but with heredity and what ever else another decade if I'm lucky. But tonight I was walking the pups. Two tunes that stand out. "Chantilly Lace" gets me dancing. The Big Bopper passed on maybe five years before I was conceived but wowww, I love that. "Third Stone from the Sun" performed by Jaco Pastorius and Weather Report. He past away late eighties, un-medicated and so sad. How about the book generation's of girls have grown up with "Are You There God, It's Me Margaret".
Yup, I was rather um "tired" last night...
I guess the point is both Jaco and JP Richardson checked out far too soon. But the music lives on. Great books too. But you don't have to be famous. Just simple things like a recipe or catch phrase passed on down keeps us alive. Unless we spent our lifetime as a hermit. We'll live on for future generations one way or another...rather comforting there.
