Yeah, I'd previously read their venom is more poisonous than a rattlesnake's
but their mouths are too tiny to bite things like humans
Never knew they had venom at all
Thought they were sorta cute

Now, that brown snake (shiver)...hate snakes, any

Good on Mr Long Legs

Although I suppose all spiders are venomous to one degree or another, the daddy long legs is the only spider that didn't (note the past tense) unnerve me just a little.

I am creeped out by snakes, rats and roaches, all of which have invaded my space at one time or another, to their everlasting regret. I let some spiders live and others come to a swift end. DLLs used to fall into the former category but they may now find themselves in the latter.

I've become a bit partial to spiders
Had one in bed with me a few times here in the cabin
They are somewhat cartoon comical when they see you see them
Their eyes seem to get bigger when peering over the covers, their little eyebrows arch, then they jump, turn, and (poof) skitter off
However, more than one? SMAT! SMAT! SMAT! SMATTY SMAT SUUUUMAT!

Venomous!? We used to pull off all of their legs when we were kids. They were everywhere where I grew up. Never heard of anyone getting bit.

Oh this is funny.
Imagining Gary squealing like a girl
:lofl:
Actually, spiders, not a big deal.

Snakes? Any, even a garter snake, creeps me out.

Contended with moccasins down south just about ever day.
Creepy, aggressive tubular beasties.

Friend of mine had a pet Boa.
‘She likes you. Here, hold her.’
slither...slither
Whoa!
All I could do to not jump outa my skin.

I get a few Daddy Long Legs in the house. To me they are harmless and their webs are not very strong which is why I suspect that the spider in the photo is a very different species to my little friends. Every so often I feel the need to remove a few cobwebs and I wave the duster around in all the corners. As I do I apologise to the spiders as I watch them drop to the floor and shuffle away to a new location. I never tread on them.

My fondness for them probably goes back to childhood. We had an outside brick toilet halfway down the yard. It had no light and was not connected to the sewer. Sitting in there with the door open I would watch the DLLs in their webs and I would take a deep breath and blow on them will all my might. Their reaction was to shake vigorously. I would wait till they settled and do it again. I guess I owe them something for enduring my childish torment.

I just find it a tad amusing is all.
Oddly enough I spook really easily but snakes or spiders don’t bother me. The most they might do is startle me if I don’t know they are there. Loud unexpectedly noises scare me half to death. I just about jump out of my skin and screech real loud scaring anyone around me:laugh:

Im like that while dusting the ceiling also. I won’t kill them; just take away their webs.
Outside we have some beautiful looking spiders that build some gorgeous looking webs. When the sun shines on their webs early morning, they can look striking. I’ve got some pictures on my old phone. If I remember I’ll post some pics of them.

YOU jumping into your ladies arms?? Possibly screaming?
Cant imagine it Gary but I’ll try a little harder.
It's not what I want to do
not very becoming
but
can't be helped
Thankfully, I live in a snake free area
They can't stand pumice (from Mt Mazama a few eons ago)

consequently;

I...luuuuv...pumice

Well Gary, you should know by now that I like you just the way you are.
No need to change a single thing:smug1:

In the home I grew up in there were daddy long legs always around the foundation ..Sometimes a mean kid would grab one by the leg & tease other kids. Mean!
we have to be on lookout for black widow & brown recluse, which are small. So unapologetically I try to kill any small spider I find idoors.

Oh DAMN! And one of those spiders crawled out of a used portable washer my husband brought here a few years back. I'm not afraid of spiders so I did not freak. I usually don't kill them either but I think I ran water to wash him down the tub drain. I think I'll share this article.
