We live in northeastern Florida. Have been since 2009 and look extremely forward to moving from here and Florida. Have been thru two tropical storms, the outer bands of Hurricane Mathew (50 miles off of Jacksonville Beach coast) and Hurricane Irma that pretty much came right over us. Like Olivia, we are not in an Evacuation Zone, so stayed in our apartment during both Mathew and Irma. Even when living in a No Evacuation Zone, it can still be darn scary.
As for me, I'd rather go thru a full-blown snow blizzard, and wife and I have before in Colorado, than a tropical storm or hurricane.
There are those that love living in Florida and Hawaii, as well as along the Gulf of Mexico and East Coast, but definitely not for us anymore. We are just hoping for the best, because we are really going into our hurricane season next month. Hopefully, the LAST hurricane season we have to endure.
Good Luck to you, Olivia and PLEASE stay safe. We are all thinking about you and praying for you.
