2023 - How's the Weather Where You Are?

Like @CallMeKate, I'm also in the mid-Atlantic (northern N.J.) and we had torrential rains and heavy thunderstorms, first in the afternoon, then last night. Same thing a couple of days before that. We are supposed to get more today and tomorrow. The Accuweather posted a flood alert for parts of N.J., N.Y. and Conn. Our real feel temperature is supposed to reach 101 by noon. 🥵 I'm glad we have AC!

Another heat spell day here in Northern California with forecast temps here along the SF Bay showing a 92F high or a dozen degrees above normal. Inland areas will be well above 100F. Currently only 70F in my 2 story residence as I let in cool air this morning at sunrise but have no AC so that will rise to maybe 80F indoors by late pm. No matter though, as mid afternoon will be driving north the 52 miles into San Francisco with its foggy marine air and a forecast high of just 72F. Very comfortable temp for a lively rock concert though by 10pm will be a chilly 56F so am dressing to be adequately warm.

Yesterday the local weather experts said ' heavy downpours of rain& thunderstorms during the night', they did not materialize. It did rain did this morning around 5am didn't last long
Today cloudy/ humid temps near 80

What a lovely boardwalk! How long is the trail and where does it lead to and from? The water to a park? Something like that?
It’s two trails. One is 2,900 metres and the other is 2,680 metres. The first trail takes you to a look out over a fast flowing river. The other day we had so much rain that it washed many of these bridges away so I had to carry one dog and hang on to the others collar so she wouldn’t get carried down the river since the current was so strong. The walk back was far too muddy. It’s normally a great walk but the last time I went it was somewhat challenging and very wet. I then had to go into the drugstore on the way home with soaked runners. Lol 😝

A little cooler this morning than it has been for a while. I put box fans in thw windows to cool the house, but after a few hours of sun, it's a futile effort. We had another series of storms roll through last night - 1.1 inches (2.8 cm) in my rain gauge. Rain predicted again for Tuesday and Friday with seasonable (i.e. mid 80sF) temps. Always alerts on TV about flash floods because the ground is already saturated.

Long the hottest place on Earth, Death Valley put a sizzling exclamation point on Sunday on a record warm summer that is baking nearly the entire globe by flirting with some of the hottest temperatures ever recorded, meteorologists said. Temperatures in Death Valley, which runs along part of central California’s border with Nevada, reached 128F (53.3C) on Sunday at the aptly named Furnace Creek, the National Weather Service said.
