2024 - How's the Weather Where You Are?

The grass has died along the sidewalks and edges of alleys and streets from the heat.
I saw some golfers today and they were hitting their balls into the shade on purpose.

The promise of "cooler" temps was, for the most part, hot air. Some places around here had severe thunderstorms last night - here it was just a few faint rumbles. I'm not sure if it rained during the night - the deck was wet, but that could be fog condensation. Still uncomfortably warm and muggy. More threat of storms this afternoon.

Only 83 F at 11:00 AM here with humidity at 54% (at least before the rains come). So hot, but comfortable right now.

This allowed me to run out and collect and break up the low hanging tree branches I cut yesterday and collect branches and bark strips shed by cottonwoods over the last few storms. Light breeze so I might sit out here in the shade awhile to combat the feeling of malaise I'd had from being cooped up several days in a row.

Today will be quite warm... possibly hot for a retiree to want to work outside by noon. But it's kind of like we've bounced into summer without having spring. Definitely no normal spring. We have several veggie growing areas, and a lot of things have sat rather dormant because of overcast, cool, sometimes quite damp days... no normal tapering into "spring".

The corn, squash, basil—even potatoes—all wanting more sun. Finally getting it.
