Pleasant day today. Temps in the mid 80's and sunny. I used to think mid 80's was too hot, but after real feels of up to 105, temps in the 80's is good.

For me, it depends of the humidity levels. I can't tolerate high humidity, but can tolerate high/dry temps.

Yes, high humidity definitely makes it more uncomfortable.

The sun is out now and it’s 21 degrees Celsius but there’s a severe thunderstorm warning. We’ve had a few thunderstorms in the last couple of days but nothing too serious . I like thunderstorms

I liked them here when our forest wildfires, in the inhabited elevations, occurred at about a 10-15 year frequency. Dramatic, and put some ozone in the air. IOW, we appreciated them more until they were starting wildfires down near residential areas & the highway, at roughly every 3-5 years.

Tornado coming our way, so, we're waiting for it to pass before venturing out.
It passed by Kitchener where my daughter is visiting .. didn't hit their neighbourhood.

Our condo building only has 11 floors. We're on the 8th.
I don't recall ever having a tornado here ..

You're correct. We aren't accustomed to tornadoes. It has just started raining heavily, with thunder. Time to shut down the computer!

I guess the lightening without the run can be really dangerous. I never really thought about that but it’s something to consider.

"the run"? could be a Maritimes expression. Not sure what you meant.

Hot weather, dry conditions, and winds all can contribute to wildfire getting started & taking off.
