A Nice Walk ( with photos )

Today we walked along an unused railroad track. It was 14 degrees Celsius and blue sky with no clouds. Our dogs just finished getting their claws clipped.

There were many railroad cars with graffiti written all over them. It’s so tastefully done though.

We walked almost 3 kilometres. It’s a beautiful day out today. Not a cloud in the sky.

Your man is such a romantic guy. He dances with you regularly. What a lovely thing to do. Does he help look after the flowers too?
What did you two do on your wedding anniversary? Does he cook for you too?
Yes he is ..…NO he doesn’t cook and says he dosent want to learn either ..mind you he helps when the fruits in season.
He dose all the home / car / servicing maintenance… We share the garden duties / cleaning inside and outside

I say I’ve trained him well 🤣🤣🤣

We stayed home for our 37 th Anniversary he always buys me cards for Christmas / Mother’s Day / birthday / anniversary …
I must admit we had some rough times early in our relationship both having teenagers when we married but we survived the storm …now happy oldies with no major health issues who enjoy our lives together

We used to always buy one another Christmas gifts ….then durning covid lockdowns we couldn’t go out shopping so I started putting $1 and $2 coins in Jar to split between us at Christmas ..so that’s what we do now days ….
We save our bottles and cans for most of the year ( we buy a pack of 12 small bottles of sparkling spring water from Aldi ) think it’s $6 for 12 bottles ….anyway they have 10cents refund on them ( not that we drink a lot of them )

Others are creaming soda bottles ( small ) we share if we want a fizzy drink …( we have the fizzy SW with pure lemon juice in it ) off our tree or the bottled / frozen cubes .

sometimes have a bottle of iced coffee when we are travling …….any way hubs counted our years supply of bottles and we’ve got $56 ….worth so today after our morning smoko .,we are going to cash the bottles in and put the $$. in our Christmas jar ….oh last year we had $210 EACH …..from the Christmas jar …

After we cash in the cans / bottles we are going out for lunch with friends …

While I take a lot of pictures, I don’t talk about where I live for safety reasons. Maybe I’m extra paranoid! Can I ask you to modify your posts and take the location info out?
It would make me feel much better.
That’s why I blank out any location on photos I add ….be very cautious adding exact locations …I’ve had experience of forum member …..exposing my exact location on a forum :mad::mad: … …… because I quoted an extract of my location …the member googled the text, I added and …..exposed my personal details ,:mad::mad:which made it easy for anyone to look up my name as well

That’s good advice Kadee. We don’t walk any place where we live. If we did I wouldn’t show pictures of it. Even the places I do show that have names of the trails, I block out for that very reasons. Most places we walk are far away from where we live.

I’m sorry that someone you trusted betrayed you like that. That’s a horrible thing to do. I can’t think of why they’d want to do that.

Today we drove a fair distance from our home to go for a walk. With all the leaves changing colour, it was a lovely drive. The place we went to today was a gorgeous walk. We both kept stopping to take pictures.

Here’s some lobster boats sitting in the sun drying out after the season

A bit further along we saw a pond full of mallards.

A male a female were huddled together on this tiny island. They looked so cute.

There were a few nice wooden bridges to walk on .

Gorgeous scenery everywhere we looked.

Ninety five percent of our walks are between 20 to 45 minutes away by car. We research nice walking trails before we go. I wouldn’t be posting all these pictures if they were anywhere near our house.
Today we walked 4.6 kilometres.

I do post photos of where I live ….however anyone would have to know my name and sort through 20.000 + people to find me …..I’m sure there are others who know my name as the person who posted my personal info ..is …here ….and a shudder when anyone posts photos of the inside or even the outside of their homes

We stopped buying gifts for each other and our relatives. It’s just too expensive. Each year I make tins of gingerbreads and send them through the mail, which costs about $25 per tin. It’s expensive but I put a lot of TLC into each cookie and think it’s well worth it.

We used to save change like you do but we no longer do that. The reason being is that most of our purchases are done via credit card. We rarely ever use cash. We use a credit card where we get 2% back plus we use our optimum points. Then at Christmas we use all the money and treat us both to things we really like.

We no longer buy gifts for each other except for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. While we aren’t truly parents, we are a mom and dad to our fur babies and since they can’t purchase gifts, we do it for them. I usually get 3 Mothers Day cards. lol one from him and two from the dogs. My husband is the sweetest.

We continue to use cash @PeppermintPatty as the banks are talking about charging business a surcharge for any credit / debt payments/visa cards used …..which will naturally be passed onto us ( been lots phoning talkback radio about being hit with these charges )

I’ve got 3 grandchildren under 12 it’s impossible to know what to buy them , so I’ve recently set up bank accounts for them and will put $$ in for them in Dec.
So we don’t buy for anyone anymore, and I don’t send cards anymore either.

Been to an afternoon dance today ..I’m pooped ….did 15 diffrent dances ….each are danced twice that = 30 dances.
Im off to bed and it’s only 8.30 pm ..see ya tomorrow

The photo of the seat overlooking the water looks a. bit like a picture I seen online one time ….it was titled
“sit a while and tell me what you see “ I liked it ..it was thought provoking cause when we sit and look at water we relax while Just taking in the serenity

I’ve been too busy socialising ….:coffee::coffee: or food shopping / gardening ….to take any photos ….but there again I need to get a life ….:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:cause yesterday I got all excited to see my spring onion seeds I planted last week coming up
Well we missed you. I hope you had a good time. We’ve picked over most of our fruit and vegetables. Today we picked most of our green onions. Tomorrow we are making some spaghetti sauce and bottling it. We’re shipping out some canned goods to the in-laws.

I love those, and they look beautiful. I like to put chopped scallions with cilantro on Mexican food and a scallion-cream cheese bagel is heaven.

Indeed the 1960's were a different time. Image stumbled upon today while uploading the above images to Imgur.
Last known professional modeling image of Marilyn Monroe, July 13 1962 that I placed on a background of seashells
(although the sweater looks too warm for Southern California in July)
Santa Monica Beach, Photo: / George Barris
Truly hard to believe the photo of Marilyn was taken over 60yrs ago ... or that I have a pocket knife some 60yrs old that looks so good
... or that Marilyn would have been 98yrs old this year
