You’re not alone justfred ! I don’t know how many Brits there are but I’m one, born and bred in Kent

Hi, just Fred. I am a Canadian living on the southern tip of Vancouver Island in BC Canada. Our climate here is very much like southern England, very temperate. We have a local steam locomotive which offers rides during the Xmas season. I am looking forward to hearing more but you and your life. This is logging country, and big trucks are common place. That,s nice to know. May I tell you a little about myself.
I am ninety years young, was born in the New Forest In Hampshire and apart from time in the services have always lived here.
On leaving school I was conscripted to work in a factory making parts for RR Merlin aero engines, When I was old enough to join the services I joined the army and trained as a Churchill tank driver. Towards the end of the war I was one of those that were described as a 'D Day Dodger' I was serving in Italy at the time. Being a regular soldier I joined the 4th QOH and served for just over three years in Malaya. On leaving the army in 1952 I got work as a bus driver. From there I went to driving lorries or as our American friends say 'truck'
I married the finest girl God ever put on this earth but sadly lost her after just over fifty years. I have four children two of each.
I now live on a mobile home site on the edge of the New Forest and plan to stay here for the rest of my days.
I am looking forward to hearing from folk all over the world.
Hobbies! I am nuts about vintage vehicles, Planes, trains, cars, lorries (Trucks) .I read a lot of non fiction. One of my wishes is that I could cook. I am hopeless, I can even burn water.
Nuff said. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Another Brit here, retired and living in Scotland. Hollydolly, You weren't a million miles from me in Hampshire. I lived for 30 years in Horndean (home of Gales Ales) and worked for 'Big Blue' in Havant and N.Harbour.
