Another Mass Killing

Most folks, of a certain mentality will see no problem here. Just another law-abiding citizen exercising his 2nd Amendment rights to carry almost any type of armament where ever he chooses. If it's to the job to kill fellow employees, no one has the right to stop him - - -until he shoots the first person. Only then has he committed a crime.

If he carries it in his car to "protect" himself or settle a traffic difference of opinion, he's within his rights - - until he shoots the other driver. This is evidently the U.S. that a lot of people are happy with??

Makes me wonder what goes through the minds of such people who wish to "aid and abet" killers of innocents.

Seems like a large chunk of these shootings are work related. I recall two people that seemed ready to pull the trigger when I worked at a Libby's can making plant in Chicago. Two people that I have never forgotten and that was long before the mass killings we see today. I have to believe some of them are copy cat killings.

There is no shortage of people who go "over the edge" when stressed out....and having easy access to firearms increases the odds that these kinds of killings will continue. Given the number of firearms in this nation, and the long standing traditions of the 2nd Amendment, it is probably wishful thinking that any substantial reduction of guns in the hands of our people will ever occur. About all a person can do is try to avoid any confrontations, and always be aware of their surroundings. It's a Crazy world, and getting worse.

We cannot fix the ills of society , by disarming law abiding citizens.

Actually the reverse is more likely to 'protect' us. By that I mean, urge everyone to carry a weapon. That way 'soft-targets' are no more. Everyone on premise would have the means to shoot back. That is why the police carry weapons. If these whack-jobs come to know this? I doubt seriously they would attempt such a thing.

Forty five mass shootings in US since New Year's Day, and still counting.
In Australia we count dead women.
8 (or is it 9 now?) killed in domestic violence incidents.

Finding solutions to these horrors is not easy, but we must keep trying.

On that I agree, but disarming others is not the way. Removing their ability to defend & protect , themselves & others in the immediate area is [should be] counter intuitive .

Again, more weapons on premise.........and I'll add, swifter arrest / trial .....and harsher punishment, fewer appeals, a more harsh time in jail while awaiting trial, death penalty invoked on all such crimes...There is a whole host of ways to make these crimes less appealing to those that might consider even try it.

Yes 100% proof a piece of paper saying keep away from me and the children means nothing more than a roll of toilet paper after the latest tragedy in your city .
@Warrigal

Man threw petrol into and set fire to car with three his young children and wife in it
killing them all
This tragedy was about 2 weeks ago in Sydney....no I didn’t want to add a link it’s been on the news everyday since the murder it’s upsetting to think any human could do this to their family

Sadly, if these folks want a person(s) dead...they'll find a way.

In reply to your last sentence above.....most killing is by family. "Friends" are second it seems. It is I suppose it is these 'relationships' the bring about such violent behavior . Last I read, death by a stranger is actually on the low side.

I'm speaking from 35 years in EMS... Gun inflicted tragedies I have personally witnessed are more than i care to recount.
Self inflicted to assaults... several with multiple victims... and yes young children...
It is unfortunately something thats going to happen... take away the guns and its knives.. or a hammer.. or good old fashion choking.
Hell maybe hijack a plane...
A couple years ago I researched CDC stats and was amazed to find out your 4 times more likely to be killed by a falling tree than a mass shooter

In the vast majority of cases of murder, excepting those caused by a serial killer, the victim knew his killer. In this episode of rampage, no motive has yet been given.

How do we stop mass shootings/killings? As soon as I figure that out, I’ll be the hit of all the talk shows.

^^^^Typical "easy solution to a complicated problem" and the need to appear to have THE solution, along with a scapegoat.

First of all, most employers do not allow their employees to bring or carry a weapon onto company property.

About a year and a half after 9/11, I was offered the opportunity to carry a gun in the cockpit whenever I had a flight over four hours. Initially, I declined, but the more that I thought about it, the more I thought maybe I shouldn't have been so quick to make a rush to judgment decision. Depending on where my wife and I are going, I will sometimes carry my short barrel 9mm.

Three or four years ago as I was driving the interstate here in my area, I was in the passing lane, but needed to get over because my exit was coming up. The car behind me was maybe about 30 or so yards behind me, so I started to nudge my way over. The driver in the other car then got on the gas and quickly closed the gap while honking his horn. I quickly jerked my wheel back into my original lane and as he went by, he smiled at me and held up his gun, but didn't point it at me. I thought to myself, "Well, there goes another nut job." I wished that I hadn't even looked at him, but I thought that I recognized the car being a friend of mine and that he was just messing with me.
