Are You Into Any Of The Conspiracy Theories?

There is a whole bunch of them and that alone could be a Conspiracy all in itself.

The Illuminati, The Moon Landing, JFK Assassination etc.

Don't know about the Illuminati, but I don't believe the moon landing was fake. As for JFK, I don't know who is guilty but I'm sure Oswald wasn't alone.

What is a consiracy? ;) Is it something to do with consanguinity, in which there is a common sire? Something to do with being racy? LOL

Aw, shoot, he's fixed it now ...

I actually did come across some sort of conspiratorial website a little while ago while looking for something else and thought about posting a link here but got sidetracked as so often when I am doing web research and now I can't even remember what the conspiracy or the theory was.

And that's my run-on sentence for the day!

Time for us to make our foil hats again kids. However two theories that seem to be backed by some resemblance of fact. JFK's dad bought him into the white house with Sinatra's help...certain "business men" who held sway over the Italian vote perhaps? Then brother Bobby starts busting all of the said "business men". Might that lead to people being a bit perturbed? Enough that they will make elaborate plans to get rid of you?
Marilyn Monroe was pill addled and imagined herself first lady. There were also no pills in her digestive tract...so she didn't gobble them to die. Another fun medical fact is a body convulses in an overdose. She was laid out rather neatly. N' her housekeeper never presented a believable story about what she did that night...sounds fishy to me.
Finally poor Vince Foster. Clearly he went into the woods and committed suicide. Except that the bullet trajectory was way off. Even if he had really bad aim, it was too off course for him to have done it himself.

The other stuff like the moon landing being faked is foil hat time...

Lord, no....but I have an aunt who is really into them. A couple of my favorites of hers: the government is importing cannibals from Africa and putting them into every state to eat the citizens who "know" what's "going on" AND every seminary in the United States (Protestant, Catholic and Jewish) has been taken over by Satanists and is producing secret Satanists who are subverting all the churches. She is perfectly serious. I love her, but she's nutty as a fruitcake. One doesn't get to pick one's relatives, unfortunately.

No but I recognize that the media has fun with them and that many folks get a lot out of it.Often close examination shows some glaring holes in these theories.I better not say any more,I think I am being watched...

Now that you mention it, there are tons of shows on just that topic. Hubby watches all he can.

Letting the so called Conspiracy theories be.... I'll just say that anyone that believes everything they hear on the news (or read in newspapers, etc) (even from your high and mighty 'reputable' sources) .... has not yet awakened to anything that is actually going on around them... That is what I called "top conspiracy" to program the general public My opinion. :)

How so very true.

We no longer know whom to trust. That creates a paranoid mindstate which in turn fuels the conspiracy theories.

Completely agree Bettyann, glad you see through all the BS. I think some 'conspiracies' are just truths well hidden by powers that be and therefore never reported by the main stream media. I'm not "into" conspiracy theories, but am definitely open minded in hearing the other side of the story.

Gov'ts are in the power business, avoid truth whenever possible. Smoke and mirrors in order to distract, or save face. I enjoy trying to fit the pieces together in order to construct at least a working facsimile of the truth. Lolol.

Conspiracy theories are rather rare in OZ but the disappearance of a prime minister in the height of the cold war (17-12 1967) spawned quite a few.

On December 17 of that year, Mr Holt went missing in rough seas whilst swimming at a favoured spot, Victoria's Cheviot Beach.

Police soon concluded it was an accidental drowning of an experienced swimmer in dreadful conditions, a theory that was confirmed in a belated Victorian coronial inquest in 2005.

But something did not quite add up for the conspiracy theorists.

A letter from an American lawyer, dated the day after Mr Holt's disappearance, reads: "My hunch from fragmentary press reports is there's a better-than 50 per cent chance that Mr Holt's death was not accidental, but resulted from expert sabotage, probably foreign."

One theory claims that he was murdered because he was opposed to American bases such as Pine Gap being built on Australian soil.
Another that Mr Holt was not dead, and that he had either faked his death and run off with an alleged mistress, or was taken by the communists.
A Chinese submarine was supposed to have been waiting off Cheviot Beach to whisk him away. This theory claims that Holt was a spy for the Chinese.

Truth is he went swimming in rough seas after some afternoon drinking.
He drowned and his body was never found.
That is the only unanswered question but it wouldn't be the first time that has happened.

Zero time spent thinking about conspiracies here. I can't even keep up with the things I *have* to think about. :) As long as the explanations make sense I'm good.

A lot of conspiracy theories have proven to be true, so it isn't always wise to dismiss them out of hand.

There's a lady in my neighborhood who sees conspiracy in everything -- if Wal-Mart is out of something, it's a conspiracy against her; if the power goes out briefly, it's a conspiracy by the government (as opposed to the fact that the wind knocked out a big tree just down the street that dragged down the power line [that was a conspiracy by the CIA to make the tree fall on the line]). GEEZ! Stuff DOES just happen! I avoid that lady like the plague, because listening to her for a few minutes makes my teeth hurt.

LOL!

Your teeth probably hurt because you aren't wearing your tin-foil helmet.

No, of course not everything is a conspiracy.

... just most things ...

Yeah, I wore out my tin foil hat listening to her. She kind of lurks in her yard and grabs anybody who walks by and regales them with her stories. The latest one is that the CIA made her dentist put some kind of transmitter in one of her fillings. I hope listening to her makes the CIA's teeth hurt, too.
