One of my favourite adventures is to go outside, say in an isolated bushy area such as in a park or reserve. I sit still and silently, and I am prepared to do so for many hours. But in most cases, it only takes 20-30 minutes before I get visiting birds, and other wildlife. Sometimes I get a bird to perch on my head or shoulder, or leg. They often look at me with an intrigue. They reveal their true nature without fear. My heart always feels very much at home with nature. Such encounters stay with me for a very long time.
A huge part of such an adventure is not knowing what is going to happen next. If I expect something, it often does not happen. Or should I say, I unknowingly censor and reject everything else but my expectations.
