Are you streaming ( or binge watching ) any series on Netflix, or any other service? Tell us about it.

Yeah, I don't watch prison films anymore. They're all the same. I liked Brute Force (1947) with Lancaster and Hume Cronyn; and Birdman of Alcatraz (1962). But haven't liked any since. I've also gotten tired of kidnapping films, and won't watch them again. No way to do anything new with that story line.
Actually I haven't seen many prison films, can't even remember any. My never-again list is slavery, holocaust and wife battering, seen enough and nothing left to learn.

To me I can think of one really good prison film,' The Shawshank Redemption' is by far a good film. Morgan Freeman is the standout to me.

ADDED: If you include infidelity to your list. I agree, I haven't reached my WW1 saturation point as yet! Been watching dramas, documentaries, series & any & all things connected to that time period. 1917 was one of my favorites. Tho, I haven't watched too many films centered around the 'Vietnam Era', I was living & serving in the military during that period & it was a darker period in my life.

In the middle of Four Seasons. Alan Alda wrote and starred in it 44 years ago. He had a small part in this one. Considering his health, he looked pretty good.
I like this version better than the previous one.

While I admire Alan Alda as a person, he grates on my nerves after a bit. A little Alda goes a long way for me, so I was meh on the original Four Seasons movie.

Agree he looks quite good at age 89.

I just came into this thread, so maybe it's been discussed already, but has anyone else watched Hulu's "Good American Family?" I both loved and hated it.

Watched 3 complete movies over the last 2 days all without ads. I had went back to basic Netflex @ $7.99. One in particular is a favorite of mine 'Spotlight' about the problem with abuse by the clergy and their targeted victims. I remember the issue reported by the Boston Globe around the time of the twin towers 911 destruction. Very well done.

Agree that was an excellent movie.

Lord God, I don't know why, but I managed to drag myself through Netflix's Ransom Canyon. It's been a long time since I've seen such lame acting, crappy script, and just sheer ugh.

Lots of slinky women, though. I guess that was the selling point, though none of the rest of it was really worth watching. Maybe it was the slinky women that forced me to watch all 9 episodes.

Thanks for the warning.

After watching & enjoying 'The Beekeeper' with Jason Stratham, I got hooked on another of his I thought was new. I had already seen it much earlier, wasn't new. 'Homefront' was much older, so I should be excused for the memory lapse. It's not unlike Tom Selleck's 'Jesse Stone' series. There are only 9 episodes & I keep insisting they're all new. I thought I couldn't be that wrong! I'm going to start keeping better track, somehow. Yes, I've seen them all..

I am also a fan of some of Jane Austin's, 'Pride & Prejudice' & 'Sense & Sensibility' are 2 I've seen many times. I tried 'Remains of the Day' but that was boring beyond belief. Also has anyone seen 'Departures' a Japanese language film subtitled in English, very moving 1st watched it after my father passed away. I guess I let my emotions rule. It is also a favorite of mine.

I just finished the first season of 'Mobland'. I didn't plan on watching the whole season, it's just that good. Especially if you like violence. Tons of violence and blood shed.

I think it's a great cast, especially Tom Hardy. It's always a pleasure to see Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan, but they play rather cookie-cutter characters. It's basically Hardy's series as a "fixer"-- in this case for the mob rather than a corporation or movie studio. Without that great cast it would be a mediocre familiar mob story.

But as you say, if one enjoys violence, Mobland has plenty of that.

Yes, he's great. I first seen him in 'The Take' an 80s crime mini series. I still go back and watch that.

Sense & Sensibility with Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet and Hugo Grant is the best movie from Austin I've ever seen.
