Are you streaming ( or binge watching ) any series on Netflix, or any other service? Tell us about it.

Just finished Season 3 of The White Lotus. I was fascinated by the series, and spent much too much time watching it. But I found the ending a real downer. Don't want to say any more about it. But I wonder if anyone else watched the whole series.

The Thailand scenery is incredibly gorgeous, and probably a good reason to watch this show, even if you don't like the story. But it's well acted and the characters are colorful and diverse enough to be interesting.

I just completed the 2d and final part of the Billy Joel documentary. It was truly wonderful and I fell in love with his music all over again.

Code of Silence (2025)

It’s been a good while since there has been a fresh approach to a police show. The girlboss treatments we’ve been subjected to over the past decade or so have become both hackneyed and long in the tooth, so it is exciting to see an innovative story line that features not a cop, but a deaf woman working in the police station’s canteen who is pressed into service by a Canterbury police squad to help their investigation of a criminal plot by being able to read lips.

The lead is played by award winning deaf actress Rose Ayling-Eliis, who is a delight to watch. Her command of facial expressions, and the use of that ability to show her emotions and what she is thinking would have made her a hit in the silent movie era. Also starring are the veteran Joe Absolom, along with Charlotte Ritchie, Andrew Buchan, and Kieran Moore.

The writing by Catherine Moulton and deft direction by Diarmuld Goggins creates Hitchcockian suspense that is practically unrelenting, and keeps the viewers on the edge of their seats. The exciting film score is by Dan Jones.

I’ve only seen the first 3 of 6 episodes, so hopefully the same high quality will continue through to the end. The series has also been green lit for a second season. It’s available in the UK on ITVX, in the U.S. on Britbox, and on various streaming services such as ok.ru/video.

Rating so far: 10/10

It's just a 2-episode series, but Tom Hanks' documentary about Billy Joel is wonderful. Especially if you like Billy Joel's music, but it's a fascinating story anyway. I think it's called Billy Joel: And So It Goes.
