Beliefs - a question

Can you explain that further?
It may take a while - years even. But briefly, it is perhaps similar to , like you said about the arbitrary gas problems, "BINGO!" when the truth is known ,
often unexpected, always unknown to start with , I think, and a "SURPRISE!" whenever healing / salvation / revelation happens.
It is actually a nice exciting surprise in life just to find anyone who tells the truth.
..... and rare too.

Before Galileo's time religion and science, sometimes called natural philosophy, were intertwined. From Galileo onwards they began to separate but it took a long time for them to seen as separate disciplines of study. Theology, the study that underpins most religions, is essentially a form of philosophy. The sciences are underpinned by the scientific method which is pretty useless when it comes to philosophy and theology.

It is perfectly possible to have an interest in both science and theology. I am one of those people.
And now we have government corporate science?

I don't understand this question. The only thing I can think of that fits this description would be our CSIRO which stand for Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research. It is government funded and works in areas such as Food and Agriculture, Space and Astronomy, Disease Preparedness, Energy, Health and Biosecurity. The areas of research and applied science vary over time.

I find most media misinformation is not an outright lie but many Omission of clarifying issues /facts.
Would it be called a lie, if it was false info, but the reporter did not know it was false? This happens daily, btw, both with and without the reporter knowing if it is false or true. Some reporters find out it is false, but continue to keep their job/income.
Science once said that the Sun revolved around the Earth
Years , over ten years, ago, I saw web-pages/ reports including Einstein and the top ten Mathematicians in the world agreeing, mathematically, that they could only show an either/or for the sun/ earth - EITHER everything in space was moving as claimed by most people, OR the earth IS stationary as people thought for about 5000 years before science/other idea came up. Mathematically the position of the moon, sun, planets, satellites etc can be and have been calculated precisely currently, past, and future, for numerous applications.
They , by math/science/ , showed that it is a matter of perspective and cannot be determined empirically without 'new' or more information.

They are able to diagnose without equipment.
Adelle Davis, in the USA, was able by watching a speaker on a podium for a few minutes if he was going to have a heart attack soon or within six months. She would let them know, of course, if possible, and if they took corrective action (diet changes) they could change that from happening in many cases. If they did not change anything, they had a heart attack as seen by Adelle.

I only wish that I could conjure up the spirits of my father, brother, and son. Since my beliefs don't run in that vein, I'll never experience the comfort that could bring.
It is hopeful and a matter of prayer also that you will experience a totally smashing comfort (grand, wonderful, greater than you can imagine so far) the same way King David, who was a man after G+d's Own Heart, did. He noted "I looked to Him, and all my fears disappeared" (paraphrased) - and repeated many many times , especially in the Psalms "He is Everlasting, His Lovingkindnesses are new and fresh every morning, His Mercy Lasts Forever, He is our strength, our stronghold, our refuge perfectly and He is our strength and our healing now (on earth) and forever) and with many many more likewise testimonies .
On the other side, King Saul sought to bring up and contact the dead through a witch (the witch knew it was illegal, and was scared), and King Saul suffered greatly/ was punished severely , for his transgression in this.

Whole groups of believers in the first century , it is written, were daily continually FULL of Peace, Joy and Righteousness.... of course this was lost benefit for most people within a few centuries when babylon gained power over the political/religious 'official' assemblies.

Peace and Joy and Righteousness, by faith in Jesus, remains both a Promise unbreakable and a Reality for those who seek to approach G+d and believe that He is a Rewarder of those who seek Him.

Gifts each one , without limit, without measure, given by the Creator as He States in His Word , His Plan. (btw, He Hates Religion , but He Loves People!)

Then why doesn't this all powerful, loving being intervene to protect our Earthly children and others ? Sorry, you cannot sway my low opinion of this deity.

When you look around and see the complexity of the universe, at so many levels, do folks believe that just happened by accident or coincidence?
H.H...Homo Sapiens were (yes Sir, WERE) finely balanced with nature. But...they have strayed. Yet, despite the straying, the complexity of our bodies and our minds pretty much indicates that we DID NOT evolve from pond scum, etc. in the short span of time "scientists"accept" and pass along. I spent many years dealing with blueprints, and some are better than others. The better the designer, the better the blueprint; the better whatever the plan details when built to spec. turns out. It appears to me that we were blueprinted.

I have no trouble discounting what "science" has been selling when it comes to just how mankind came into being.

I have studied ancient cultures along with ancient religions for many years (55+?) and have come to the conclusion that in all candor, humans do not know what they do not know.

And you betcha, I could really get on a roll talking about all I have embraced relating to our beginnings, Jesus Christ and just who and what entity he was referring to when He said things like, "My Father In Heaven" or "The Heavenly Father". There is no doubt left in my mind that he was NOT referring to Yahweh, Jehovah or even Allah.

If anyone wants to discuss what I just said (See: Above) in private, then please, let's do.

Be easier thataway to share back and forths!

EM, many people ask that exact question. The deal is, we humans were given Free Will just as Satan, or Lucifer if you prefer, was given dominion over the Earth. It is up to we humans to exert our Free Will and reject Satan/Lucifer best we can. The Almighty is not prone to interference in our day to day existence.

The deal is EM, what goes on here in this Earthly Realm doesn't truly mean diddly-squat in the overall scheme of things, unless of course someone flat pisses off The Almighty with ONE stOOpid move, then they very well could be denied entrance to The Heavenly Realm.

Nice thing is, most every sin we commit can be forgiven, 'ceptin' that ONE and Jesus gave us the opportunity to have our sins forgiven...just as He passed along some other very important information. His requirements for our Eternal Life are really pretty simple, but most folks don't understand that simplicity because MAN in his typical manner has muddied the waters with his BS tweaks to "religion's".

It is true most churches preach that dogma that God is always watching out for all of us and that he has an intimate elaborate plan for each person to attain salvation. However scriptural references to that are weak. He did say to his apostles to make requests to his father and then churches interpreted that to mean everyone forever. Of course, that is a self serving agenda for churches just like dogma of omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence, powers. God never did intervene like that in the OT or the NT but rather Jesus as God's final plan seems to have given that task to St Peter so the human race could to do so ourselves. Even the Israelites suffered for generations in Egypt before God intervened with Moses. Between Solomon and Jesus over centuries, God just sent prophets. Jesus himself said he would be going away to be replaced by the Holy Spirit. Despite that, church dogma has been desperate clinging to God and Jesus is still here with us. Maybe but then again maybe they were resident on Earth briefly and just the Holy Spirit remains while they are many light years away. The Holy Spirit may be a cloud of UIE nanobot technology. Nowhere in the OT does God say much about himself except in Genesis that by using "Our" it sounds like a race of entities that likewise very very little has been explained:

Gen 1:26 Then God said, “Let Us make mankind in Our image, according to Our likeness;

What Jesus did say emphatically in the NT is his father is offering eternal life for those that believe he is God's son and keep his commandments that if so would be tasked to the Holy Spirit. In any case I have no special knowledge and no entities have been communicating with me so can only speculate. I choose to believe and seek eternal life.

"Our" and "Us" as you quoted was so confusing and raised so many questions that at, I seem to recall, The First Council of Nicaea 'roundabouts 300 A.D., "The Holy Trinity" was born to explain "Our" and "Us" in Genesis. Prior to that Rabbit Out of The Hat trick, The Holy Trinity was not to be found anywhere in The Old Testament. And I prefer NICEA as The spelling...but, ain't up to me!!

And too...The Sumerian Tale of Creation, has the appearance that Genesis "borrowed" said tale and claimed ownership. I believe that is what occured. AND The Sumerian Tale gives a pretty good explanation for Genesis 1:26, leaving no confusion.

Gnosticism gives some pretty good thoughts on Yahweh, and I really did already decide that Yahweh was/is exactly as The Gnostics claimed Him to be...long before I did some delving into Gnosticism.

So, who was god talking to when he purportedly said this about making man in our image? The son that was not yet here? The spirit (we do not look like spirits) ???

So, rather than monotheism, we had three gods or a tri-part god? I remember prior to my Catholic communion, being utterly confused by this. I was never confirmed due to my mental resistance to things which did not make sense to me.

I respect your right to believe, but it is an impossible sell for me. I am more inclined to believe that planet Earth was seeded by advanced aliens.

Many of the biblical tales were borrowed from older stories from various places and adapted to fit the location and the times and the dogmatic goals. Add to that the numerous translations and timing and the editing and decisions on whose writing to include or exclude, the credibility weakens, in my opinion.

I do think the old testament and the new testament (in different versions) are interesting reads. So, too, are the tales written beforehand that were "borrowed."

Good. This, believe it or not, was the Creator's Way of protecting you from terrible things and the wrong direction. YHVH hates man's religions, and so should we - confusion is the result of religion, as well as death. The truth is not found from trusting any man's religion.

EM...you are just about there!l Maybe do you some research on The Annunaki now. And read up on The Sumerians and what they said about our creation. Be prepared for those naysayers you will encounter in your search, who just cannot accept what those ancients knew, and when those ancients knew it.

I could suggest some reading materials to you to help you get a leg up, but it will be better for you to seek and find your own truth all on your onesy.

I wonder what the real purpose of Christianity is? I don't believe the purpose of religious creativity is solely on behalf of religious followers. The historical view of Christianity and religion illustrates a need for violence and control. What better way to plunder, murder and imprison undesirable citizens than to accuse them of witchcraft or devil worshipping?
When god becomes a weapon for conformity, it is likely the nonconformist has something church and government wants or to be rid of a group or individual that stands in the way.

The devil, of course.
JJ!! Take a close look at Yahweh in The Old Testament, along with Jehovah and Allah, and note that all 3 exhibit heavy handed, unforgiving, characteristics that are reminiscent of Satan his own damn self. Add in the easily seen duality of "God" in The O.T., and then one may understand why there is so much confusion within the 3 major religions of today.

The Sumerians gave some ideas about the duality of "God" I just mentioned, and it becomes pretty clear by their account that False Prophets, and False God's is pretty much the order of the religious business of today.

I'm sure you didn't mean onesy (a one-piece t-shirt with snap crotch that great-grandmas like me buy their great grandkids, haha.) Maybe "ownsy." Anyway, I was widely read before my convictions were set in stone, though admittedly I have forgotten much. I still like reading varying theories, however.

My attitude is that petty vindictiveness is not a trait to be admired or respected. As I've said elsewhere, according to my highly religious relations, my saint-like agnostic father was destined to burn in hell while my nasty hypocrite mother was heaven-bound. Not scenarios that would make me a convert.

Just read the Wikipedia article on the Anunnaki and enjoyed this part: "
Over a series of published books (starting with Chariots of the Gods? in 1968), pseudoarcheologist Erich von Däniken claimed that extraterrestrial "ancient astronauts" had visited a prehistoric Earth. Von Däniken explains the origins of religions as reactions to contact with an alien race, and offers interpretations of Sumerian texts and the Old Testament as evidence.[69][70][71]

In his 1976 book The Twelfth Planet, author Zecharia Sitchin claimed that the Anunnaki were actually an advanced humanoid extraterrestrial species from the undiscovered planet Nibiru, who came to Earth around 500,000 years ago and constructed a base of operations in order to mine gold after discovering that the planet was rich in the precious metal.[69][70][72] According to Sitchin, the Anunnaki hybridized their species and Homo erectus via in vitro fertilization in order to create humans as a slave species of miners.[69][70][72] Sitchin claimed that the Anunnaki were forced to temporarily leave Earth's surface and orbit the planet when Antarctic glaciers melted, causing the Great Flood,[73] which also destroyed the Anunnaki's bases on Earth.[73] These had to be rebuilt, and the Anunnaki, needing more humans to help in this massive effort, taught mankind agriculture.[73]"

I remember seeing a cave drawing that looked quite like a feasible spacecraft. All of this makes me want to write my own creation story - another work of fiction, of course!

I don't read the bible but did get one for perfect attendance to church when I was young.

A few bible stories like turning a woman to a pillar of salt, use of Noah & his family to jump start humanity again, the Red Sea Crossing, destroying Sodom even the death of his son. As I look around at how mankind hasn't changed & may even become worse than when those stories were written. IMO all that death God inflicted didn't accomplish anything. It's been 2000 years since God tried. Is it reasonable to conclude God gave up?

Or is it more reasonable to believe the stories were mans way of trying to explain the unknown?
