I would suggest that most religions are patriarchal. In matriarchal societies women are not condemned for having sex with multiple men. Nor are they condemned for any pregnancies or children that they bear. Children are raised communally by the family or even the village as a whole.

Where there is intertribal warfare, women are expected to bear many sons and the social structure tips over in patriarchy. This is true in places like new Guinea and was also the structure in pre-christian Vanuatu. In both cases wives were acquired by barter from a neighbouring village or island. In Vanuatu, if a warrior died in battle his widow was strangled. Her only value was to provide him with sons. This did not come as a surprise because one of her first duties was to make the rope that would become her garotte.
 
No, and if you read The Bible, you'd know that married couples Make Love. Besides multiplying the Human Species, God Is Love. So sex is an expression of Love

The sexual revolution should have happened at the beginning of time not thousands of years later. Mankind and his prudent see-no-evil. speak-no-evil, hear-no-evil imaginary sinful ways were driven by fear of god delivered by hung-up sick minded perverts claimed god punishes the weak who succumb to the temptations of the world. Bull Sh!t.
Imagine a society so pure and innocent that tv shows portrayed married couples sleeping in separate beds, even more strange, shows like Leave it to Beaver, Fathe Knows Best and the Dick Van Dyke show were family shows with children. Hiw did that happen? Maybe they were born in a cabbage patch?

People talk about simpler times, however, back in the day when television was starting out there was no need for censorship until the Morale Majority began making changes to protect the youth of our great country. Trouble is the Moral Majority went too far to the Right and censored everything in the name of god, family and the bible.

If you can instill fear in a person, you can get them to do almost anything to protect their beliefs from a given adversary. Communism, Weapons of Mass Destruction, hell, fire and damnation. Do you know the truth? Is masturbation a sin? what about same sex relationships, is that a sin? What about having sex because you like it? Is that a sin? Somethings people believe is down right stupid.

Who in the world told you that??? I didn't read your whole post but read enough to be able to simply say that's not true. You have to be vigilante at knowing who is a wanna-be, thinks he is Christian and the genuine Christian. BIG difference.
 
Marriage is intended for the procreation of children, and the sexual act should be used solely for that purpose. This is the teaching of the Bible. This is why Catholics are told not to use contraception. Sex is not intended to be something to be enjoyed.

Whoever wrote that obviously had no understanding of humans, only of the lower animals.
 
Procreation is just an excuse to have sex: "Really, God, we weren't fooling around. We were just trying to procreate."

I disagree, sex is not always an expression of love. Sex can be an act of control and submission. Love may not have anything to do with love.
 
Religion is a great way to control people while stealing their money. Of course now we can add spoiling their fun as well:)). Luckily very few people follow such ridiculous ideas.

I meant that if you are following Jesus (Christian) then sex between a man and his wife is an expression of Love. In this culture we live in, Sex can be many things that have nothing to do with Love. You are right there.
