We see them only occasionally here. Ospreys much more often. Ten years or so back, a bald eagle nested above a river channel, within a four-minute walk from our place. It displaced the resident blue heron for a couple years, then it moved on.
We had a mating pair about 8 kilometres down the road and one year fed them fish remains. It was very exciting. That’s how we got some of the photos we have. We could even see their nest. Not really well though.

Ospreys are great hunters. They can dislocate their toes to get a better grip. We saw a lot of them in Ontario but we don’t see many here in this province.
