The only place that I aware that mask wearing is mandatory is in a medical facility or doctor's office.
Of course, most of us knew that already, some are allergic to facts. It doesn’t say anything about mask effectiveness. The REASON for the mask mandates WAS the spiking Covid cases![]()
It states right on the box that the little masks inside were not designed to prevent transmission of viruses so the whole thing always seemed like a group think motivational tool. The worst spiking Covid cases were reported during mask mandates. What does that say about masks' effectiveness?
The same with vaccine mandates.
It's been scientifically proven that masks are ineffective against viruses. Including the N-95 masks.Yes, it has been scientifically proven that masking helps. If you so adamantly believe that it doesn’t, the next time you have surgery, ask your surgeon not to wear one.
Control. Why would a non masked person care if others wore a mask, how does it hurt the non mask wearer? I've never understood it.
The anti-maskers want to take away our freedom to wear masks...
Meanwhile in Germany too, but only patients must wear masks, not the physician and his staff. Makes senseThe only place that I aware that mask wearing is mandatory is in a medical facility or doctor's office.
Not the same thing.Yes, it has been scientifically proven that masking helps. If you so adamantly believe that it doesn’t, the next time you have surgery, ask your surgeon not to wear one.
Can't handle being disagreed with.I have to get off if this thread![]()
Right. Surgeons wear masks to avoid that their saliva with bacteria infects the wound, but not because of a virus. Every virus is so tiny, that it penetrates a mask without any problem. On the package of the N95 masks in Germany (we call them FFP2 masks, but they are exactly the same) is always the note "doesn't protect from viruses".Not the same thing.
Of course they would go a doctor if they had Covid, why shouldn't they? Do vaccinated people not go to doctors when they get Covid? What I never understood?
People who don't trust their doctor's opinion that they should get the vaccine. Then, when they get Covid they run to their doctor for treatment and advice.
That's your reality - in a world of your own making. What I never understood?

Not everyone needs a doctor. I got Covid two times, the first time obviously in February 2020. At that time there were no tests available, but from the symotoms it seems very likely. I had a colleage at work who was at the large 'Biofach' fair at Nuremberg which had a lot of Chinese exhibitors. She got sick, then me, then my wife. The colleague was 67 at that time, my wife and me were in the beginning 60s. All of us had a week with headache, a little fever, general weakness but nothing dangerous. The second time was in October 2022. The same again for my wife and me but only for five days and without fever. No vaccinations, no doctors, but we take the whole year vitamin supplements (especially D3 and C) and zinc. Our D3 levels are about 70 ng/ml which is fairly good. Since we avoided wearing masks as far as possible our immune system always gets trained with the contact to viruses and doesn't become weak. What I never understood?

yup same here.. can't go into a hospital around here without a mask.. I always have a mask in every pocket of my coats and jackets, and a couple in the car. I went for an MRI 2 weeks ago.. didn't have my coat on and completely forgot about the mask, and when I reached reception they offered me a mask before they even checked me in .. . I have no problems wearing one..I've seen people still wearing masks and I don't really have a problem with that. Some people still prefer to not take chances when near people they do not know. However hospitals in my area (Vancouver WA) still require you to enter with a mask.
that's possibly the best retort about mask wearing I've ever read...Yes, it has been scientifically proven that masking helps. If you so adamantly believe that it doesn’t, the next time you have surgery, ask your surgeon not to wear one.
you say that tho' Chic. When I was at the hospital waiting room there was a couple with their toddler child. Neither of the parents were wearing a mask...and I thought I might be frightening the child because I was.. .. so I waved to him, and he waved back ( probably 2 years old or less)..then I played peekaboo.. with him.. ( we were about 8 feet apart... ).. and he laughed and had a great time.It doesn't. It does send a psychological message that something is not right if you live in culture/country where mask wearing is not the norm. It hurts little children also who are just beginning to understand how to socialize by recognizing and interpreting facial expressions.![]()
yes that's something to ponder. I like to think my coat pockets are very clean, and I only ever wear a mask once, always have since the start of Covid ... but I take your point..I wonder how many germs are on the masks that people carry around in their pockets, and how many times people use the same mask.
