China's Pregnancy Robot Is Capable Of Birthing Live Baby

I have to try to look at this objectively and say that if a couple in China wants to have a baby and are incapable, and they either can't find or don't want to use a human surrogate, this may make sense.
What about adopting a child for couples who are incapable?

And moreover why is it such important for some people to get a child whatever it takes?

I doubt that in some cases it is the child which is important for them but other reasons.

I've read the story of a very wealthy couple with a big company.
They wanted to have an heir for the company but the wife couldn't give birth to a child.

Thus they adopted a male baby.
But while growing older it was obvious that the boy could not do what was expected of him. In the end he committed suicide.

Other company owners just sell their company at a certain age.

not sure about where you live - but in Australia it is almost impossible to adopt a child - there just aren't babies available for adoption

can't see why that would be so for people using IVF any more than for anybody else.

They had a ONE child rule for awhile, you could have 2 IF the one was a girl.
They have upped the limit to 3 now.

The claim: China announced an end to its one-child policy and will now allow couples to have three children

China's decades-long child-limit restrictions on couples have generated controversy and misinformation on social platforms.

In 1980, China introduced a one-child policy in an attempt to slow its surging population growth. The government limited most urban couples to one child and allowed two children for rural families if their firstborn was a girl.

But one viral social media post suggests that the nationwide one-child limit in China recently came to an end and that couples can now have up to three children.

"#BreakingNews The Chinese government has announced an end to the one-child policy and will allow couples to have up to 3 children because of the aging majority and lack of young workers," reads a screenshot of a tweet shared to Instagram on May 31.

They might be able to construct and supply an artificial womb but can they really supply it with everything a mother does including ALL the nutrients, hormones, cells etc in the same form a mother would. If the caretaker misses or messes something up the fetus is done.

This smells like an AI image to me. The whole idea is ridiculous. What's the point of the robot, especially one with plastic breasts?
Yeah, breasts on a robot do seem unnecessary.
Agreed, there's a lot of photoshop here. This item comes from the Daily Mail, which is not known for accuracy. According to the article, it was based on an " Asian media outlets report." Everybody knows "Asian media outlets" are the gold standard for truthfulness.
But if it could save a baby's life when the mother passes, maybe....

Depending on ones outlook or beliefs it could be beneficial. Not as many young people are getting married and still want children. The robots can carry babies for women who can't have kids. Even though this is probably fake. But ya never know what the future holds.

I''d love if artificial wombs were available for premature babies, especially extremely premature babies like my triplets were. The babies would do much better in something that was very similar to a womb. As it is, there are bright lights on all the time, lots of beeping from the machine, voices, and frequent enough emergency situation with preemies.

I'd love it if they were in the dark, bathed in fluid, kept at a normal temperature, did not have to breathe, and could just stay there for a few months.

Incubator temperature controls can break and put the preemie's life at risk if no one notices it. I was asleep one night and I woke up suddenly and knew Son #2 was quite cold. I called the NICU, the nurse placated me, although I was extremely insistant. She called me back 10 minutes later to tell me I was right, the incubator temp control was broken, and my son was in a new, working incubator. She wasn't going to check, but she couldn't get how insistant I was out of her mind.

See this about earthworms:

"Earthworm reproduction begins with two individuals aligning themselves ventrally, or belly-to-belly, in opposite directions. During this alignment, a specialized, swollen band on each worm, called the clitellum, becomes prominent. The clitellum secretes a thick, mucus-rich tube that envelops both worms, binding them together. This tube facilitates sperm transfer between partners.

Within this protective mucus sheath, each earthworm releases sperm from its male reproductive pores into the seminal receptacles of the other worm. This exchange is mutual, meaning both worms act as both sperm donors and recipients. The clitellum then secretes chitinous bristles that help anchor the worms together during this process, which can last for several hours. This reciprocal transfer of genetic material ensures genetic recombination."

If human technology ever evolves to where every human could bear sperm and eggs, then even unmarried ones could have children with THEMSELVES." If worms can do this, why not humans with our advanced technology?
