I suppose it may be plausible, given how the JFK files ares still locked up, but I thought JFK was also "seeing" Sam's girlfriend in addition to both brothers being friendly with Marilyn and just about any other "girls" they could get their hands on. IMO - a very dysfunctional family whose money greased the skids for some less-than-bright offspring, most of whom ended up dead before their time.

Giancana promised Joe Kennedy he would deliver Illinois for JFK and that put him in the White House so JFK would ease up on the mob in return. So Bobby goes after the mob immediately betraying the promise from Joe. Now we all know what happens to those that betray the mob much less to do so from the White House.

As I said, it's quite plausible. Since we're on the subject of conspiracies, why do you think some of the the Kennedy documents are still locked up? Who or what are they protecting/hiding/etc.?

And if you know (or are familiar with) the folks pushing these "theories", you will usually find that they ARE pushed in a political direction and almost always the same direction.

Makes me disregard most of them unless the evidence (at least IMHO) is overwhelming.

Hoffa had nothing to do with John's killing, but he did shoot Bobby.
The mob had to get ride of Hoffa; he was taken to the deep woods, tied to a tied to a tree where Little Foot ate him.

I pay more attention to the story and evidentiary factors and less to people. Whatever leanings or prejudices you might have about someone can cloud or influence your thinking about the base issue. You know, book/cover and all that. Even a dumb, blind chicken leaning the wrong way can sometimes find a kernel of good stuff. Pay attention to the stuff, not the chicken.
 
I used to believe the UFO incident at Rosewell, NM., being a sci-fi fan I wanted to believe. Nowadays I no longer believe that or any of the thousands of alien abduction stories. However I do reserve the right to believe that aliens have visited Earth in some capacity.

Big foot sightings? Some are admitted hoaxes, others are un-admitted hoaxes.

Political assassinations? Intelligence agencies are good at keeping secrets. The secret? Kill the participants and witnesses.

To me, the ultimate fallacy is OJ Simpson's lawyer, Johnny Cochran contending that the LAPD somehow tried to frame OJ. Yea, right. I know public employees, and I know they can't keep their mouths shut, and in a law enforcement agency they wouldn't dare lie, but instead would spill the beans to save their jobs.
 
Maybe JFK from the OP.

I used to believe Bilderberg was a conspiracy until the internet blew the lid off their secrecy. They once hired massive security to ensure total secrecy of the annual meeting place and the arrival of the participants. I'm sure they still do have tight security, but can no longer maintain their pre-tech privacy. Now that we do know that a powerful group of people from academia, European aristocracy, finance, heads of state, industry, media, politics meet each year to confidently share ideas. Politicians more and more appear to be puppets ...whether from this group, the Koches and Soroses of the world, I dunno. I'm sure there's dissent, but would imagine that agendas are growing closer than most people realize.

The group supposedly started meeting to promote Western capitalism and post WWII unity between the US and Western Europe. Not so sure what they're up to now, but polarized issues and politics, dissolution of national borders seem to be high on some powerful puppet masters' list. The majority of the peons fall right in line with the polarized stuff and keep the ball rolling fast.

Another thing I imagine is much higher now on the radar than the group's inception in 1954 is the rapid depletion and pollution of the earth's resources. Whoever winds up with control of natural resources holds the ultimate power as they grow more scarce and are rendered unusable. Money isn't going to matter for this group at some point; when that day comes, we as consumers and 'users' are going to not have much of the pie.

It is smart to remember that some of the most unbelievable conspiracies can sometimes be true. One of the more memorable was the conspiracy being pushed by "unsavory", according to "experts" , characters. The conspiracy was that the government was secretly involved in developing bio weapons, testing them on people without their knowledge and sometimes killing them in the process. It was true and eventually uncovered, despite the government's best efforts to destroy evidence and bury the story. The details of that program bordered on the unbelievable to those who wanted to think the fine citizens running our government could never do such a thing.

BTW, I believe the program was MKUltra, run by the CIA. A good number of hospitals and universities were involved.

I remember Joseph Campbell ("The Power of Myth") explaining that many thousands of years ago humans began to make narratives/stories about the unexplainable. They imagined, faires, goblins, gods, godesses, animals, nature, the heavens, procreation, etc.... The absoolute truth is only a narrative that the majority believe in, because as we have seen how what we thought was true in the past was replaced by another absolute truth. :) So most of what we belive to be "true" is really true/the real thing/the answer/put to rest for, each of us to accept or reject or somewhere inbetween. Everything is in constant change and each idividual experiences events in a unique manner. If their particular story starts getting popular then a conspiarcy story arises. Now it can be used (a tool) to control other people's behavior by inscrutable people/organizations. I can imagine two competitive America's Indiginous people around the campfire at night making up outrageous stories against their enemies. It is one of our most primary instincts...survival, and usually survival of the fittest.

I remember the derision that was heaped on people who suggested there might be such such a thing as the Bilderbergs. Most of that derision was done by a combination of truly stupid people and paid propagandists wanting to stop the spread of the idea. Another, less sinister (perhaps) group initially touted by some as being nothing more than a conspiracy was the Bohemian Club, which turned out to be very real.
 
Conspiracy theorists have probably missed out on bedtime stories as children. May I suggest a revival of Enid Blyton! Get the fantasy out of your system.

o_Oo_Oo_OIt was a perfectly normal day in my neck of the woods...I woke up as usual to the singing of the birds etc, then I heard a strange whirring. I thought, oh no that incorrigible neighbour has started mowing his lawn so early. Ah well..I got up opened the back door to feed the birds who land on my verandah hoping for a morsel before they begin their busy day.

Lo and behold, !! there was a strange looking vehicle in my garden and exiting from a door in the side of this oval shaped object was a stream of green men ( I remember thinking, why only men, where are the women?) ... anyway to cut a long long story short, they got to the backdoor, wished me g'day in a rather bad Aussie accent...then I woke up :ROFLMAO: 🙄 🧐
 
OK, here's a conspiracy theory that's been alive for a bit: "Covid vaccines won't work as advertised and there's no sense taking them." Toss than one out around here and all kinds of people will jump on you, possibly calling you names. That's been happening on the internet. But wait, there's this bit of news:

The tiny nation of Seychelles, an archipelago in the Indian Ocean, has the highest density of vaccinated citizens in the world. Over 60% of their residents have received full Covid vaccinations, so one would expect they would be well on their way to reaching normalcy by now. Instead, they are experiencing a spike in new Covid cases that’s so bad, they’re going into full lockdown mode once again.​

The nation of under 100,000 people is a popular tourist destination, so the government sprung into action to get as many people vaccinated as possible. Their economy required them to be considered as safe as possible to maintain their biggest industry, so the people generally embraced the vaccination agenda. It isn’t just to protect those who are vaccinated, but also those who are not. That’s the point of vaccines, to slow the spread and make a disease fade away as a result of herd immunity.​

Then, somebody who doesn't (want to) believe it will ask, "What's your source", essentially preferring to check out the source before paying attention to the story. Now, I am not going to give you the source, lest you set about trying to discredit it. I could have set a trap but won't - it appears Bloomberg backs up the story. What I would want is more verification and some knowledge of what vaccine they were given under what circumstances. Regardless, if the story is true, it is a conspiracy worthy of my attention, if not yours.

Of course, had you not paid attention to the conspiracy in the first place, you probably would have missed the story altogether since it first came to light on what some would consider a conspiracy site. Who better, though, to look for evidence of truth in a conspiracy?

The BBC is confirming the story with this bit of additional information:

The Seychelles, which relies on tourism for much of its income, began vaccinating its population in January using Chinese-made Sinopharm vaccine doses donated by the United Arab Emirates. By mid-April about 60% of the vaccine doses administered in the country were Sinopharm, with the rest Indian-made AstraZeneca vaccine doses, Bloomberg reported.​

They also said that of the 1000 active cases, only one-third were fully vaccinated, i.e. two doses. The other two-thirds were either unvaccinated or had only had one dose. I guess this just goes to show that we need a higher proportion of the population than 60% to be vaccinated.

Also I don't believe anyone has ever claimed that vaccination would make us completely immune to the virus. Here at least, they are talking about the vaccination saving lives, and maybe making people less contagious if they don't get as sick with it.
