Coronavirus Hotline?

We have guns and I promise you if someone broke in here the guns wouldn't be used on us, if so it would be over our dead bodies. Pray no one ever needs to defend their property though. As long as they don't do something stupid like let the prisoners out of jail like they're talking about doing.

I heard that’s what they were thinking about doing?

You misundnerstood me? I have No intentions ecessarily that I was going to try defend to myself with a weapon, but make myself more aware of my surroundings buying an Alarm system of some kind ? I was wondering what was the governments plan going to be if people start to behave unruly?
Local police departments and government agencies have their ears to the ground on this. There are plans and drills for quelling civil unrest if it occurs for any reason, COVID19 related or something else.

Should our social structure starts to break down, the National Guard will be called out, curfews and martial law will be ordered quickly, and calm will be restored.

I honestly don't think this is going to happen, at least not anytime soon.

...they are talking about doing the same here. Releasing people who are in for ''minor crimes''... ... Scarier than anyone actually thinks because those people will be the very ones who are likely to break into your homes, or steal your car... or mug you for your purse / wallet or phone and possibly with violence given a desperate enough situation....

So they [the officials] do not want it spread in the jails....they want those jailed to be released & spread it among the outside population? Not to mention, go back to their criminal ways at the same time?...This makes no sense, and sure as hell is not going to curb the spread in general.

Good point !!....It even said in one article that some / many of these folks are in jail due to a poor financial situation. No money for bail/attorneys , so what do these brain-trust officials think they will do when released......of course steal/rob/car-jack/mug......etc & so on.

I think the police can do so much in the case of looting. Unfortunately, that goes on in any disaster situation. Years back the stores were looted during the big power blackout in NY, looting was going on during the Katrina emergency, those who left their homes due to wildfires in California had some break-ins and theft.

No matter what the disaster, there are some sleazy people out there who will take advantage of those already suffering. I'm able to protect myself and my home if need be, but I'm not very worried about that happening, certainly not paranoid about it. Keep in mind, many things you hear on the news is exaggerated and will cause unnecessary fear, 'if it bleeds it leads' is the old saying.

Hoping this all dies down as soon as possible, and everyone stays safe and avoids getting the coronavirus.

They will say they'll only release criminals convicted of "Minor Crimes." They're lying; they'll release anyone they want.
I worked at a Government run halfway house for a month. It was for inmates who were there for a few weeks to "adjust" before being released.
I was given a list of rules & regulations that were "mandatory." Every one of them was violated daily. Example: "No murderers or sex offenders would be housed here, since they were not eligible for early release." When I learned that there were numerous murderers & rapists there, I asked about it & was fired. Good riddance.
They tell us what they want us to believe - and hope we're stupid enough to buy it.

A little tidbit for those that are following things.
The number of confirmed cases worldwide has exceeded 200 000. It took over three months to reach the first 100 00 confirmed cases, and only 12 days to reach the next 100 000.

This is where I got it from.

I think the increase in reported numbers is 1) because the disease is spreading and 2) because a LOT more people are being tested. The "numbers" are only a snapshot in time and not all-inclusive, plus I'd suspect that China manipulates their reporting.

Thanks for writing, I’ve called and left messages 3 days ago, No reply? Someone mentioned calling 211 for non emergency issues. I’ll try Calling that. I just want to know what’s the governments plans are if people’s behaviors starts to becomes desperate? You never know?
Well, that's what our police are for Pat. They are trained in all kinds of emergencies and riots (you've seen this happen before in your lifetime I'm sure) and if that gets to a point they can't handle then the Governor's will call in National Guard. But I don't think there's any reason to worry at this point so just try your best to relax (maybe easier said than done). Perhaps try some meditation or have a beer or two. Much peace to you. ☺ ✌☀🍻💜

sorry, I'm not really being sarcastic here, just concerned... but do you really think that if 2, 3, 4 maybe .a gang of people smash into your house with knives and guns you're going to beat them off with a hammer?.. do you think that if even one person comes into your house who is much younger and or stronger than you, they are not going to take that hammer from you, and use it on you?

I know it gives people peace of mind at times to have these kinds of things, but really you're best to just up the security of your home, you really don't want someone attacking you with your own item of protection..
I can try. Besides, once they're in, I'm sure as heck not gonna stand there and just let them kill me or beat me. Besides, I can't afford to "up the security". Otherwise I would. I don't see how a burglar alarm is gonna help me with those same 4 people. It's not gonna do any damage. Sometimes if you let people know early on that you're willing to fight, they may back off. People don't wanna struggle. They want an easy take. Not something they have to work at. That's why purse snatchers pick victims that give off weak body language. If you look shy as opposed to walking with purpose with a scowl on your face, who do you think is gonna get their purse snatched first? Not trying to be sarcastic or snitty. Just saying.

Remember once, reading about an old lady in Cleveland that beat a purse snatcher off with her cane. Good to have an umbrella with a stiletto in it, too!
