Did anybody vote today?

I've always voted year after year and voted again this time...but have never experienced the likes of this one. I can't expound on that here although I can share that I'm registered as "Unaffiliated" because I like to feel I can vote for who I feel will do the best job for the US and it's people.

I vote for smart, clear thinking, healthy, fearless, leaders with an exemplary background, not crooked, having a heart for fellow Americans whether rich or poor...as well as all countries worldwide.

Someone who will be strong and highly respected among other leaders far and wide. And will stay focused on our security with a strong military and strong border control...keeping us safe from drugs entering in and crime, respecting our police. Someone who's not reckless with our economy, and smart about our energy.

No I didn't vote this time. It's all become like, "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss".
Even though I agree with you to a certain extent, I still have to exercise my right to vote. My ancestors endured a great deal of terrorism fighting for that right that should have been a given as Americans. (biting dogs, literacy tests, intimidation, violence, poll taxes, guess how many jellybeans in the jar and assassinations). Currently, it's in the form of nonexistent fraud claims backed by various new laws to enforce disenfranchisement.

Even though I live in a red state, I see it as my duty to get it done. I was on vacation when the ballot came in. The day after I got home, I filled it out and took it directly to the post office. I was able to verify at the county voter lookup that it was received and also accepted. I find voting by mail very convenient.

Even though a lot of deniers won office in my county and city, I refuse to be discouraged. Too much bloodshed and death happened for me to exercise my constitutional right.

Over 17,000 people are registered to vote in Uvalde county and only about 30% voted in this election. Uvalde County specifically loves their status quo and last night I finally believe what people say all the time about my former home town, “Uvalde will never change.” Because let’s be real, if the murder of 19 children and two teachers didn’t wake up this town, nothing will.

This is sad and surprises me, Pam, If anyone needed to vote they did.....Many Texans voted with Uvalde in their thoughts, including me.

I voted in person a few times, didn't think it was fair some polling places gave free stickers while other people didn't get any..
I've voted by mail for quite a few years, including this one a few weeks ago. Was quite surprised by some election results, and disappointed at many.

Thankfully I live now in a red county and did not need to vote for senate and congress, but did so anyway. I did want to vote for recreational Marijuana, and conservatives have mixed votes on that. Life is harsh, and if some people need some mj to get through the days, it should be easy to get without paying a doctor for a prescription. Is no worse than the pharma drugs they want to stuff you with. I don't partake, but maybe in 20 years I might wish to. It passed with 53% yeahs.

As soon as a politician like that materializes, I will definitely vote for him/her.

I have always voted as an independent (best person for the job regardless of party) but am forced to declare a party affiliation, otherwise, I cannot vote in a primary and often that is the most important vote because it's where the candidates are chosen. Choosing a good candidate is over half the battle.

For those who think their votes don't matter, I can kind of understand that especially for the house and senate races in the U.S. You are after all voting for politicians.

I voted in person at my polling place. Took all of 10 minutes. Great polling workers, really good experience. Where my vote and voice really count is in the local races. We had 1 proposed state constitutional amendment, about airports of all things, and 2 initiative measures. The measures were about voter i.d. requirements and minimum wage increases. Both of these are important and that is why I really feel my voice and vote is needed. Also school board races and a couple of other local races.

All in all, I can't ever see a time when I don't vote.

I voted. I think both parties need a good spanking at the hands of the citizens. I wanted to get my paddling in. I believe that on a nationwide level, both parties did get taken out to the woodshed.

We have vote by mail in my state and it works pretty well. There are however two problems I have with the early start part of it.

1. Somethings come out in the last week or two that might change my vote. For example, in one election we learned about 10 days before the voteing deadline that a certain candiate had lied on his election material. He claimed to be a former member of the Armed Forces and had attended some officer training school. This was a lie. But then, a lot of people had already voted for him and wanting to change your vote is NOT considered a valid reason to request a new ballot.

2. The news media goes bonkers over the last few votes that trickle over the period of a week. So do the highly partisan extremists on both sides who have a fit as the last votes are counted. Actually, now that I think of it, irritating the news media and the partisan extremists may actually be a worthwhile feature of voting by mail. :D
