[MOI? CREEPY???]

:love_heart: Yes.
When our Irish Setter *Meagan* went to heaven,
her veterinarian hugged me and said ...

"I want to be reincarnated as your dog."

We have had that compliment also and it feels great.

When I attended my 50th high school reunion a few years ago, a guy I knew in high school and hadn't seen in 50 years came up to me and said, 'are you Lynn and did you used to have dark hair?' When I answered yes, he said 'you changed my life, you brought me out of my shell'. I asked him to a Pep Squad dance and he turned me down because he didn't dance (religion related). I couldn't talk him into going and ended up asking another boy. He was a basketball player, very tall - 6'10", quite shy and didn't date in high school. Evidently my unsuccessful invitation gave him confidence and he gave me credit. I was extremely flattered and kept asking 'are you serious?' He said it in front of a whole bunch of our classmates who probably said 'Lynn, who?' since I only went to that school for my Senior year. He called me a few weeks later after we all went back home and wanted to fill me in on what he had done in his life. He drove a senior citizen tour bus in college then married, had 2 children and was a retired high school principal .

I always tell people to go to their reunions. He gave me a wonderful gift that day.

Speaking of reunions ,when we went to one of my Husbands High School reunions about 10yrs ago we sat at a table with some couples that we knew and some that we didn't .One of the guys we were siting with said " Hey Barbara you still look the same from when we went to the dances. Do you remember at the dances when ever they played
"Moonlight Cocktails I would run over to you and ask you to dance." After all these years I still think of you and that dance. I wish they would play it tonight. I was flattered ,but I don't think it made his wife happy.

The gf and I were dressed to kill. Had to stop at the grocery store for a few items. Out of nowhere, this young woman came up to us and said, "I've got to tell you, you two look so sharp!" Felt cool.

Other’n that, I hand ‘em out like candy from a stranger, especially in town, to old guys all spiffed up.
Seems to quicken their step.

I do the same, but to women of all ages.
Today is stinking hot and we went to lunch at the local Returned Servicemen's Club. I was air conditioned.

As we were signing in I noticed a grey haired lady in front of me. She was rather tall and slender and wore a loose fitting sleeveless dress.
It fell gracefully from her shoulders and the print pattern was were pleasing.

Later, as she was passing our table I stopped her are told her that she was wearing a lovely dress.
She smiled and demurred about the lack of sleeves but I assured her that she wore it very well.

I find that women, especially young mothers or older women are in need of the occasional compliment from a stranger.
I have warned Hubby that he should not start complimenting young women because it is creepy.

One compliment that I treasure to this day: I was working downtown and encountered a lot of "street people" when I was out. The encounters weren't always pleasant, to say the least.

One day I was wearing a flowered dress that always made me feel good to wear. Coming toward me was a squat, stumpy little guy, dressed in filthy clothing, shuffling along the sidewalk, head down, muttering loudly "mumble, mumble, (obscenity), mumble, (obscenity), mumble, mumble, (obscenity)…." and just as he got to me, he looked up at me. I was prepared for either an outburst of obscenities or at the very least, an appeal for money. Instead, he growled "NICE DRESS!" and shuffled on.

Now THAT was probably one of the most honest compliments I've ever received.

Actually, the fact that he finally attended a reunion and wanted to tell me was another huge compliment too. He gave me a gift and made me realize anyone can have an effect on people by doing ordinary things and most of us never know it. Reunions can be fun because, after so many years, many of us have lost the teenage angst and say things we couldn't bring ourselves to say in high school.

At another reunion, one of the 'hot guys' told my best friend he'd had a crush on her all those years ago. If only he'd said it sooner but even this guy with all his apparent self confidence couldn't. It was her last reunion as she died 6 months later but at least she knew.

People tell me I look good for my age, but hubby is the one who gets all the compliments told he hasn't changed a bit and flirts from much younger women. I call him Dick Clark.
