Do you have the bliss of ignorance?

No sad story here.
The thought popped into my head as I think of some people I know who seem not to worry about anything at all.
They go about their life, not concerned at all about anything going on around them, or around the world.
Just their own little life and they do seem happy/content being that way.
Perhaps from your perspective however, everyone carries some baggage. I don't think there are people who are blissfully ignorant even babies get upset when things don't go their way.

In addition to those with purely self-serving agendas, today's world is filled with small time button pushers, pot stirrers, armchair experts, and 80-proof philosophers. Each person must separate the vital few from the trivial many for themselves. Choosing to ignore a specific subject does not make one ignorant in a general sense. It's natural, logical, and we all do it.

When some encounter a person who places small value on something that they themselves consider vital, they tend to label that person as ignorant. C'est la vie.

Well if something bad has happened but you haven't learned about it yet, I can see how that kind of ignorance would be bliss.
I get your point. If I have cancer, but don't yet know, I'm blissfully ignorant of the situation.

But if the warning signs of cancer appear, and I choose to ignore them, I'm just dodging the issue, thinking all will be okay. That is not something I do.

You cannot choose to be ignorant.
I disagree. See "specific subject". I choose to be ignorant on the subject of Taylor Swift's love life.
👆... and ....👇
Don't you think people can be willfully ignorant?
What I'm saying is that you can choose to reject knowledge (turning off the news or walking away from someone) but you can't choose to be ignorant. I don't see the two as being the same thing.

Are other folks really ignorant or do you just see them as ignorant because you disagree with their ideas and cannot share their contentment?

Nelson Mandela was in prison for years and found contentment and when released wasn't angry or vindictive. I don't think he was ignorant, just realized he had to make the best of his situation.

Being able to control your emotions isn't an act of ignorance or denial, but rather intelligence, understanding that you are hurting no one but yourself by a negative reaction.

All those insane, irrational videos by those young folks that didn't like what the majority of the people wanted, didn't impress me as intelligent, but rather clueless and feeling entitled and ignorant. My staying calm and just smiling about their insanity, didn't lower my IQ one iota.
