Do you use bar soap or body wash when you bathe?

Was using Dove bar soap until about a month ago when I switched to a castille soap. Fewer chemical ingredients.

This house is on a septic system so I am careful what I use. If it contains any kind of oil or lotion, how does that affect it? I tried the dove body wash before I moved here; liked it but it seemed it was used up fast and was costly. Same thing with liquid fabric softener; switched to dryer balls. When my hair was long, I used a small amount of conditioner only on the ends but now that it's short, I don't use it at all.

Both, bar soap for daily use and nice good smelling body wash for going out or want to lounge around and smell good. Safeguard and Irish Springs for bar soap. Nivea and Irish Springs body wash among a few others.

I've always used a bar of Irish Spring soap and a washcloth. Using body wash was so froo-froo. Than I tried it, and now, I'm a body wash guy. Of course, I buy only the best no name body wash in the Dollar Store.
I tried the Dollar Store body wash. It's okay, but I stepped up a few dollars. The Dollar Store was my first experience in body wash. I didn't want to spend a lot in case I didn't like it. Still have it though šŸ‘

I have liquid soap in pumps....currently orange blossom, downstairs... in the bathroom I have bar soap...

for years I''ve used liquid soap but couuldn't resist some luxury bar soap a years or so back, got 3 huge bars so it's going to take a long time to get through them ... and I'm using that in the bathroom sink.. but pump soap in the actual shower...

I also have a store of cheap soap in the Barn which I bought during covid, and just use that to top up the pump soap... as @StarSong says.. soap is soap..

Bar soap and it has to be unscented. Right now I have a bar of Crabtree and Evelyn that has some scent. It scents the whole bathroom, imo.

For face washing it’s something like Cetaphil liquid or a specialty brand cream. The washcloth is mainly to wipe the water from my eyes.

I use the exact same combination of products, Starsong.

The one thing I don't like about the liquid soap is that sometimes those pump things on the bottle don't work. Or I have to put in a lot of effort to get them to work.

Bar soap; Lava or Dial. Depends upon which brand is currently unwrapped. Lava works surprisingly well as a body or hair soap. Let the catterwauling begin.

Or something else? Or nothing at all?

I’ve never been able to make the transition to body wash. Lord knows I’ve tried! My kids consider me a shower Luddite because I don’t use body wash and a scrubber or washcloth like ā€œeverybodyā€ does!

Nope. I just use a bar of soap which I rub everywhere, use my hands to lather it up, rinse off and I’m done!

How about you?

:D

I've mentioned this before. Like you, so called "Body wash" is a just silly. It's basically watered down bar soap as far as I'm concerned. Bar soap all the way for me. And not fancy stuff either. Imperial Leather for me. It's a long way from being special in modern terms, but what it does well is get me clean. Why change?
