Does any commercial get you upset ?

All the above plus the progressive commercial when the man lies down in the bathtub and it fills up...it's so stupid as are most of the insurance companies commercials. But I guess there have to be commercials for people to make money. :devilish: :alien::poop:(n)

While I am an animal rights activist, I would gladly load the butts of those analy-fixated, toilet paper loving bears up, with 000 buckshot, if they ever came dancing into my house, waving their poop-free underwear around!

Charmin commericial: I ain't picking it up, you pick it up. I'll pick it up cause my Hynies clean...ARRGGGHHHH!!! My hubby laugh every time it comes on because he knows I really don't like that one.. I am putting it mildly.

Almost every commercial gets on my nerves, but there are a few that make me upset. If I see a commercial about a child having cancer or an adult having cancer,I get very upset. With all the technology we have today the only reason we haven't found a cure is because the pharmacy companies would lose money. Years ago without the technology of today they found a way to prevent Polio and other conditions. Why now do people have to suffer so much. It makes me so upset.
I truly believe there is a cure for cancer but we will never know about it..not yet anyway. A lot of lives will be lost before it is known to the public. If there is a disease, etc., there is a cure..that's just my humble opinion.

The whole commercial is so depressing, and obviously meant to be depressing to tug at our wallets.
This is the part that bothers me the most ; that it’s deliberately done to tug at our heartstrings which will lead to our wallets wallets.

I don’t mind donating money to help out. We contribute to local charities and such which I enjoy being a part of. we aren’t pressured into donating.

The type of donating I don’t appreciate is the kind that make you feel obligated. The kind that added you right in front of others while at the cash register if you’d like to donate $2 to ___________.

That type of pitch really ticks me off because they put you on the spot and I don’t like being put on the spot.

Sorry for going off topic. 🥺

I NEVER donate to those. How do I know the employees or manager don't take the money for themselves? I'd rather send a check to the charity, hopefully they will fear the auditor.

That was meant to be ‘asked’ not ‘added.’
Yes the customer doesn’t know that but even still, I find it cheeky. It’s playing on a person’s ego. We are going to ask you to donate to sick children’s hospital right in front of all these customers so if you say no you are going to look like a heartless cheap steak .

I just don’t like feeling like I’m being unfairly manipulated into doing something kind to others. That I can do just fine on my own thank you.

The ones about St Jude make me sad even though they claim to help those kids, but like Don said, they could be using the TV ad money to help those kids instead. I am suspicious of any business or charity that advertises often on TV, those commercials are EXPENSIVE.
The expense of the commercials are calculated to bring in huge returns. If they did not advertise, they would not be receiving those huge returns. The investment is worth it. St. Jude does not just claim to help those kids, they help those kids, and there is NEVER a bill to the patients' families who are also housed and fed for free so the family can spend quality time with their children. Through the research of St. Jude's childhood cancer has been greatly alleviated.

It's good to be inquisitive about a charity but not to be cynical about those that genuinely work, like St. Jude's. I can't imagine the agony of having a child I love with cancer.

I am an animal rights advocate treeguy, too, just love all them animals!

Yes, to all the above...
I find the Holocaust Survivors, ASPCA...any preacher type that appears on a regular basis (direct TV has 7 or 8, on 24 hours a day.
and all the above post are disgusting.

The worst are bald headed children, whether it be from starvation or cancer...
All, All! are in very poor taste, think you for attempting to disturb
Well, that's how they get into the pockets of the gullible.

The ads for expensive prescription meds. make me angry. Especially the ones who speed-read through the warnings. And the dumb ones that tell you 'don't take if you're allergic to it'.
Sometimes they're amusing; especially when they're not timed very well.
I saw an ad for a testosterone supplement & right after that, an ad: "If you were diagnosed with cancer after taking a testosterone supplement......"

I don't know if this is what @Aunt Bea was referring to. I also hate the one about the elderly women crying and alone in cold and decrepit rooms in Russia waiting for the woman delivering food to them. You would think they could move them to better housing together and it would be more efficient and cheaper to cater to them that way. The whole commercial is so depressing, and obviously meant to be depressing to tug at our wallets.
That one's good for a chuckle. After the Rabbi died, his daughter took over & does the ad.

Now THAT'S funny!
A wife says to her husband, "Are you hungry for breakfast?"
"No," he replies. "It must be the ****** I took."
A few hours later, she asks, "Do you want to have lunch now?"
"No," he replies. "It must be the ******."
Five hours later, she asks, "Well, how about dinner?"
"No," he replies. "It must be the ******."
She says, "Get the hell off me....I'm starving."

My gripes pretty much follow what has been said. As for the ***** enlarger/hardener........I don't need lead in my pencil, I have no one to write too.... ;)

I can't stand the donate to the religious , all the money the church takes in....and the way in which the priest retire ?! And they don't have enough for the Nuns to retire nicely as well ???
Someone has to pay for their legal fees. Defense attorneys for child molestation charges are expensive.

Ads for funeral plans on day time telly. Furniture ads with the run up to Christmas. Supermarkets advertising their produce with extravagent ads. Hair colourant ads. Lots more to name will run out of text space😮😆

I switch channels if anything comes on showing children or animals in distress.

The current commercial I hate and think is ridiculous is the one where it shows men holding different bent vegetables or fruit. If you have a health issue seek medical help if you want to but don't stand around looking puzzled at a banana or an oddly bent carrot for gosh sakes!!

I have absolutely no problem with stupid commercials for brain dead people because I cut the cable about 16 years ago. All my viewing is supplied by Amazon DVDs & my ROKU provides some great shows on Acorn TV & BritBox. The shows are subtitled & all the shows are commercial free. Can't understand why anyone pays for cable so they can be miserable watching stupid commercials. It's like buying a gun & shooting yourself in the hand. Really! Give me Gunsmoke, Doc Martin or Keeping Up Appearances anytime.

the donkeys in the middle east heart breaking the owners need stringing up by there feet ……….sad advert ..

All of the above ..... hate 'em, love 'em, ridicule 'em, laugh at 'em, mute or fast forward but they must work. Otherwise, the companies and organizations would stop paying to have them run. So obviously there is a large part of our population foolish, silly or dumb enough to respond, right?

I agree......Too much money being made "managing" cancer & others. Announce the cure , and apply it, and the money dries up.
