Does anyone show their actual photo of themselves

Per my earlier post:
Does anyone show their actual photo of themselves

I just replaced my avatar again with another I re-shot a few minutes ago with my A6700. When I shot the New Year photo, behind my tripod position was a bright wall making me squint and at the time I posted it on a Happy New Years 2024 thread. I noted would shoot that again on an overcast day which today is with rain coming peaking during today's Packers <> 49ers game late afternoon. This below downsized image shows me wearing my new skiing down warm mid layers I'd bought during the holidays. Also have enjoyed wearing the two garments in my home since I don't have any heating except a hair drier, that this month is usually about 62F.

And here is a 100% pixels crop of just my head from the above image showing the considerable detail on my APS-c Sony A6700 with a Sigma 56mm F1.4 @F8.0 prime lens. And yes that is some grey in my fine chestnut brown hair I've never dyed that is thinning at the top front.

You shine when you smile. Nice photo.

With my a6700 and 56mm lens, took front, right side, left side images today with the above downsized for web at 2000 by 2400 pixels. But then this ibb dot com hosting website reduced the hot linking size to just 30%. So useless, no better than our forum's mediocre image size limit with heavy compression. Another service I previously used, postimages dot com no longer allows free images larger than 1280 pixels and now pressures for fee accounts. And note the seniorforums dot com free image size is also severely reduced. Notice slightly lighting is dimmer on my right side so will fix that in Photoshop though leave this test post as is.

Although there are several free online image posting services, the Internet due to image bandwidth limitations no longer is in the era allowing free use as has been abused by many. All I've tried using so far for anything but small detail images, seem to play games to pressure users to open paid accounts.

Ok worked on the image posting at postimages dot com a bit more and found I could just use my Google account which means one only needs to log into a Google account before use. Apparently web services are increasingly forcing the issue of clearly identifying people using their websites for whatever purposes because some otherwise find ways to abuse services. For example posting porn and or hate etc.

Although the above is only slightly larger than using the default seniorforums dot com free image upload I used in the post above, with this postimages dot com link, by Mouse right clicking and then selecting "Open Image in New Tab", it will open the postimages website page for the specific image. There, Mouse the + sign to view the full sized image. Postimages does restrict the size to 32 megabytes that is large enough for any images to over 6000 pixel dimensions or as much as the highest quality full frame DSLR cameras natively produce.

I use Postimage all the time , have done for years.. it's not always stable tho'...

Anyway really nice photos of you David.. have you had your hair cut ?..it suits you like that...

For the winter ski season so strands of loose hair under my ski helmet and goggles would not annoyingly come out in front of my goggles, cut it down from chin length to ear lobe length. It has since grown down a bit but not long enough to rubber band pony tail. During tech career working years to not be controversial in appearance, my hair was typically this long and brushed back so without any hair products. Note, I've also never ever dyed my light brown hair that is increasingly gray.

Most often, I leave my quite light thin hair free hanging down with full static that some people describe as the rebellious, unkempt, Einstein look, haha almost no others in this era use. For decades, I've used special cleaning shampoos that remove oils and all shampoo or soap ingedients that leaves highly static hair, so strands float apart widely. Not a culturally acceptably aesthetic style but then I am not part of main line USA culture. Compare this to my first 2024 post in this thread:

I am not tech-savvy, and not up on modern stuff.. when I need to post an image that won't cooperate with this forum, I put it in GIMP. Always works.

I also like your new haircut. Your hair looks better swept behind your ears than hanging straight down at the front. It’s got some style now that suites you better.

My most recent photo...

The above is the result of a collision of my face with the concrete. No serious damage - just a black eye, a cut above in the eyebrow and irreparable damage to my spectacles.

Spent Monday night in the ED ward for observation and a CT scan. Blood pressure through the roof even though I felt OK and was quite unstressed. I was also given a tetanus booster.

Saw my GP today and he said that everything was actually quite normal after a fall. Everyone has elevated blood pressure readings.

Tomorrow I visit the optician for an eye test and to select frames for my new glasses.

I have to agree. The shorter hair looks nice.

Warri...so sorry about your eye.. must be painful and you must have been shaken.. ... but I swear you get younger looking every time we see you.... 🌺

I do. That's ME in my photo. Why would it be someone else? Lol
many people do put pictures of total strangers, or celebrities as their Avatar... very odd to me.. but their choice...

I have been accused a few times of the photos of me NOT being me.. and like you I have aways said'' why would I put a photo of someone else on here as me '' ?... strange how people think...
