Does Your Nickname On The Forum Have Special Meaning?

As posted my nickname Knight has no meaning. I used to have the nickname [My Hands Are] shorten to myhandser.

Just out of the Navy boot camp stationed in Argentia Newfoundland it didn't take long to get a girlfriend in Carbonear. One weekend close to Christmas I borrowed a friends car to take her to a party down in St. Johns.

On the way down I got a flat tire. No problem, just get the jack & spare & change it. Really--really cold after I got the jack put it in place I got back in the car & told my girlfriend My Hands Are cold.

She lifted her dress & said here put them between my legs to warm them. :D :D :D

Next were the lug nuts same deal put my hands between her legs to warm them. Got the tire out put it on, got back to warm my hands & told her almost done.

That was when she asked me, Don't your ears ever get cold? :devilish:

I use "Been There" because after 30 years in the Marine Corps, I have been all around the world, including the Arctic Circle at Thule Air Base to refuel. It's a very diversified base with military from other regions around the world. There are about 500 or so people there all the time, but not all are military.

It’s a stupid story. I used to run marathons. I ran at night because of the peace and quiet. I owned my own businesses so I had no specific time to be at work. A good time to start running was 10 pm and quit about 2 am. I would run past this 24-hour convenience store and the clerk was usually outside smoking a cigarette when I would run past. He started calling me moon. I asked him why did he call me moon and he said that because every time he saw me running, there was a moon out. A little further on my run, I would also pass an all night Dunkin’ Donuts. I would go in there and refill my water bottle. The young guy in there started calling me rat and I asked him why. He said because only rats come out at night. OK, whatever. But, that’s how the name moon rat came about. See, I told you it was stupid.

Thule Air Base
My father was stationed there when he was in the AF, in the 50s. The base was pretty new then, and secret. A big change for him from Louisiana. After its existence was declassified he talked about the weather a lot.

It was a remote assignment, my mother and I stayed home. I was too young to remember, but I think my mother believed he was in Germany.

Mine is from one of my bikes, Colnago C50. I like the stories that many have you have posted about your screen names, I'm always curious how people come up with theirs.

Went over seas in 1970 with a backpack and stayed at the Holland House Youth Hostel in London to start off. Since then I have traveled many decades with a backpack. Once I traveled for 8.5 months and went right around the world. Packerjohn is a pretty good name for me:
1. I have backpacked South America, Africa, Asia & Europe over many decades.
2. My first name is really John.
