I got as far as I could go with this article. Have some cognitive issues. I see this article as being intellectual, well written and, pardon me, bullshit. The premise seems to be to protect values of the "normal" family with well researched information trying to uncover the insidious plot of 'queers' to normalize their activities as mainstream with the desire to sexualize children to be willing partners in s.e.x. acts with queer men.

Although not written in a shrieking manner, instead using language that 'makes sense' I see their intent as prejudicial BS. IMO.
well...they scare me!I'll admit to being old fashioned / nonprogressive about a lot of things and this would be one of those things.......probably best for all concerned if you didn't get me started on the others.

Many people fear what they don’t understand or anything different from what’s ordinary. Actions sparked by fears are not usually well thought out ones.well...they scare me!
The John Birch Society? Wow, I'm old, but you must be really old. Are they still around?Maybe if The John Birch Society started a story hour for children then all this negativity could be balanced out. I personally wouldn’t take my grandchild to one of their events but you’re certainly welcome to take yours.
Crimes against children come from all types of people it seems. I’m no expert but I’d suppose that more persons wearing business suits have committed crimes of such a nature than have drag queens who’d read stories to children. The drag queens aren’t as stealthy as the suit and tie types. The John Birch Society? Wow, I'm old, but you must be really old. Are they still around?
Nothing scary about this at all:

Well, I'm just an old John Bircher, so I wouldn't know about these things.Crimes against children come from all types of people it seems. We have lived in Idaho for a year now and yes,it`s a VERY conservative state. However,at least where I live(near Boise),we can get in the car and be in Oregon in 30 minutes. That is a VERY liberal state. So some of that "bleeds over". Having been born and raised in California and living there for 71 years,I`m kind of liking this change....A close friend of mine lived in Idaho for a few years until just recently. One of the reasons he left is because it's a "conservative state." That's what he told me, anyway. If it is, I suppose that library's story-time audience will dwindle quicker than a minnow can swim a lap in a dipper.
Well, I'm just old but I know enough to know that none of us knows it all.Well, I'm just an old John Bircher, so I wouldn't know about these things.
He was already at such an event at Brooklyn Bridge Park. My dil said he was bored and walked away. I was surprised, as no one had ever told me this. I brought up the subject to her since it's been in the news lately and that's when she told me. I guess she didn't think it was a big deal.I told you it was a conservative, i.e. "right wing" publication. The horror!
The people behind Drag Queen Story Hour have stated their intentions pretty clearly. You don't have to believe them. I wouldn't take my grandchild to one of their events but you are welcome to take yours.
In the great scheme of things, it's not.He was already at such an event at Brooklyn Bridge Park. My dil said he was bored and walked away. I was surprised, as no one had ever told me this. Men wearing funny collars and sworn to celibacy are the biggest culprits throughout the world, yet the people most vocal about their hatred of transvestites don't seem to have a problem with pedophile priests.Crimes against children come from all types of people it seems. I thought the article was well thought out and well written. I miss intellectuals like William F. Buckley. Wasn't it he who took down the John Birch Society? Anyway, I treasure conservatives who really put great effort in making their points in a non hysterical manner. So there. I'm not horrified at all, just disagree.I told you it was a conservative, i.e. "right wing" publication. The horror!
Patience! I have so much respect and admiration for you, Pepper. You're the ideal SF poster.I thought the article was well thought out and well written. I miss intellectuals like William F. Buckley. You may have told me it was conservative, but I told you I have cognition issues. I missed your explanation entirely! Have patience with me, please.
