Drinking milk ...........

I drink about a gallon and a half of 2% every week, mostly for supper. Don't forget that milk is fortified with vitamin D.

None. It bloats me too much so I try to avoid diary but do love some good ice cream occasionally. 🥰 I use coconut milk or almond milk

I've never been able to tolerate milk. I do just fine with yogurt though and eat a bit of that. Once in a blue moon I get an overwhelming craving for ice cream and eat some -- then I spend the next couple of days sincerely regretting that decision. Then I'm good for another couple years or so till the craving strikes again . . . .

Cow milk is for calves. Even as a child, I never understood why humans drank the stuff. Now, I know: Big Dairy made sure we were all brainwashed, very early on. That continues, to this day, with that foul "Got Milk?" campaign, in the states.

My mom never pushed it. I drank a glass a day, I think, until I was a teenager. I discovered plain, unsweetened soy milk, as an adult, and that's what I drink, now, but mostly use it in my morning oatmeal.

Been on almond milk for five years. It's so easy on the stomach - have converted my daughter's family, too. I drink about 16 oz per day, same for my husband.
I started drinking that as well. Did you notice the ingredients. One vitamin I am deficient in.
Vitamin B12. It supplies 50% of the daily requirement.
I only have milk with cereal breakfast. About a cup.

I love the stuff!
If it wasn't readily available anymore, I'd buy a nice cow and suckle it.......:giggle:

My Mum use to say, the only way she could keep me quiet was keeping me glued to her breast...:giggle:

I used to have a bowl of cereal every night as a before bed snack. Though I prefer the rich taste of whole milk, I switched to fat free for reasons of weight maintenance and overall health and I'd pour a cup of that over my cereal.

More recently (within the last two years) I switched to Almond or Almond/Coconut milk, and also stopped eating cereal at night. I very seldom have cereal now, but I've never found an adequate substitute with a small glass of ice cold milk with cookies, neither of which I have very often, but when I do? ...Mmmmm yummy!!

For my calcium needs I eat a plain yogurt every day...greek and nonfat. I stir berries into it, and sometimes a splash of maple syrup. Delicious! My bones are strong.

used to drink a lot once --but not now , semi skinned is best ' only have a it on cornflakes etc .. makes u fat full cream ..

Well, there is a reason many people can't digest milk. Humans are supposed to get one type of milk up to 1 year old. If we didn't get it by then, it's too late because we no longer produce the two enzymes needed to digest it.
The milk of other species (like cows) is designed for an animal that gains several hundred pounds in the first 6 months of life. And the composition is very different than human milk. That's why animals stop drinking mother's milk after they are weaned.

As for calcium, I know several elderly people who drink lots of milk on the advice of their doctor. Their osteoporosis keeps getting worse, so something's wrong with the advice they're getting.
Personally, I can have a spoon of yoghurt or cottage cheese now & then without a problem, but as for milk, it's only soy or almond milk.
This is exactly right. Humans are the only animals on earth that drink milk after infancy and we don’t really have the enzymes to break it down and digest it properly which is why it upsets so many stomachs. Oddly enough dieticians are educated from big food companies the same as doctors are educated by the big drug companies because they are the ones who sponsor the education so of course it’s going to be bias information.

I hate milk. From when I was an infant, I hated the stuff. My mom, at her doc's suggestion, tried a taste of real food. One bite and to hell with that milk thing. Never drank milk since. Don't know why I hate the stuff so badly.
