Favourite TV series

Not into 'soaps', reality TV shows, talent shows etc.

Favourite series through the years: (Incidentally, quite a lot of those on the list are regularly repeated over here, including quite a few not on the list).

THE ASTERISKS ARE for the theme tunes I love to hear, and I've included a Heartbeat youtube link to the lovable rogue 'Greengrass' with his gorgeous twinkling sexy eyes and cheeky grin singing the theme song - dare you not to smile 😊

Love that video....still watching the series:love:

Right now my favorite series is the darkly comedic "Why Women Kill."

"Corner Gas" is a sort of, kind of, "Andy Griffith Show" set in Canada this century. Well, ok, with more emphasis on the light comedy and far less on homey message episodes.

For some reason though a lot of Canadian friends despise the thing for nebulous reasons. Maybe because they are city Canadians and worry it makes them all look like hicks? Got me.

There was a series, then a movie, and then to offer more they did an animated series. Everyone had gotten older and the budget got tight.

OMG, this comedy sounds "hysterically funny"!!

We’ve watched Days of our Lives from the beginning. And of course Yellow Stone.
I watched Day for many years, then I just couldn't watch Sami throw herself at another man's feet after being jilted. I stopped watching and it has been about 25-30 years since.

We love Ghosts and Young Sheldon. Most recently we discovered Corner Gas, it is a hoot!

Out of the shows from my younger days, I would have to say Married With Children is my favorite.

The current show, and I don't really watch much current television that I really liked the first season of is Wednesday.

I have just finished the last episode of Endeavour and am so sorry that this series has come to an end. When Morse first started he was probably in his 50's so I would like them to make another series of Endeavour Morse in the years between but I don't think it will happen. Watching an interview with Shaun Evans, to my astonishment his accent was so very different from the part he played on screen.

Lately, we've been looking into new TV series. We've found some amazing ones. However, it's been frustrating to find out some promisingly great ones, just ended up lasting less than 3 seasons.

Latest one was found earlier this morning.

Fantasy Island (2021-2023)

I just don't understand how come great series begin and ends so quickly.

I was a regular fan of the original Fantasy Island from beginning to end. Always hoped for a sequel. I find it and it's already cancelled. Geez Louise!

I saw a film recently with James Garner who immediately transported me back to the Rockford Files - Ring, Ring.... 'This is Jim Rockford, at the tone leave your name and message and I'll get back to you'
:)

The Rockford Files, what a classic. I watched it a lot in syndication.

This one is of that unfortunate category that was cut short. There are only 2 of the planned 5 seasons, but it is still a good watch:

Amazon used to have it for free with Prime. I just found it free with ads on The Roku Channel though.

That "Corner Gas" makes a good comfort show. When I can't sit still for anything else it works for me, even as background noise.

I watched some episodes of "Corner Gas". It seemed like it would be a good show to watch while I cooked. I never could get into it. It kind of fell flat. The funniest characters were Oscar and Emma. I did enjoy them.
I'll have to check out the animated one. Now that's funny!
