First record

My first husband threw away most of my 45 collection (to be mean) but I salvaged at least 300 of
them and play them all the time.
Every week since I was a young teen, I bought the top five of the "Hit Parade".

The first record i bought and played over and over and over was:
Buddy Holly: Side 1: Peggy Sue Side 2: Everyday

Growing up I was very lucky. I never had to buy a record. My Dad had a friend named Romeo who filled jukeboxes. When he had to put new ones in he gave me and my sister all the records he had to replace, I still have hundreds and hundreds of 45 records.
Me too, hundreds, all bought by my sister who is five years older so I have the whole rock & roll spectrum!

My first album was Elvis. Was going to buy the Beatles first release, but my Mom talked me into Elvis. Didn't really get into buying many records until I got in the Navy, and had a little disposable income.

my brothers first LP was Bridge over troubled waters
simon and Garfunkel
he played it so much , i knew all the words to every song and still do lol lol

i liked Cecilia and The Boxer

After I bought "A Hard Days Night" my brother and I ( well me ) wanted the new Monkeys album so bad I stole it with the other record. At check out they didn't notice, but he store cop had saw us, and began to chase us. We crossed a four lane highway and hid in a supermarket. We saw him come in so we ran out. My brother panicked and gave up. The cop started taking him back to the store so I gave up. Then i told my brother to run. We broke away for awhile until my brother gave up again. That was it. We were with my Grandpa, and he talked the management into giving us a warning rather than sending us to juvenile hall. I still enjoyed the album. A LOT! Crazy!

great song holly ..i still listen to it .....and do you remember Mony Mony ..?
I certainly do Charry.. and the Boxer which I played over and over again... I had a S&G 8 track Bridge over troubled water, OMG that was played to the death...

I've just been up in the loft and taken photos of my old Red Record box and the 45's in it from 50 years ago..these are all well played originals from when I was a teen..must be 50 or more singles up there.. I never thought to look for Band of Gold .. I should have, but it's up there.. 52 years after I first bought it..:D

There's not much room up there and even with the light it's still pretty dark so the pictures aren't great..
