Forum member seriously injured

No doubt Holly is missed, her input has contributed to so many threads. Always interesting are her pictures, done so well it's almost like being there.

I don't really know anyone that well, but sure wish all hurting, relief from pains and discomforts. The older I get, I realize that I have to accept a certain amount of pain and discomfort or stay drugged until I die. I choose a clear mind. The mind over matter thing is still a work in progress.

Years ago my neurologist told me that he had never seen such a collection of neurological damage and still be active. I asked him about how old I might be expected to live. He said, "You will probably live to be very old, but you won't be happy about it."

Get better real soon Holly and others hurting. Don't let the physical pain cause you mental pain. I have decided it hurts to get old.

Has anyone heard from Holly in the last few days? I haven't heard from her or about her for about 3 days now, and am getting very concerned about her. I have no connections with her, other than this forum and email. I wrote to her and received no answer, which is very disturbing, especially since she was beginning to write a little bit to us all here. And she usually answers my emails very promptly.

That's one problem with these forums: if you don't have the person's phone number, or know a mutual friend or one of their relatives, there's no way to get any news about them.

No, I haven't... I've been relying on you and @StarSong for updates.
Hmm... back to praying.

Just heard from @hollydolly! She's having a tough time of it, as we can all imagine. To add insult to all of her injuries, despite the other driver admitting fault at the scene, the woman is now denying it. So she's got that nonsense in front of her.

Tomorrow she has appointment with the plastic surgeon about her hand, which is a 40 mile Uber trip.

Holly thanks all of you for your messages and kindnesses. She'll be back on the forum as soon as she can.

I'll keep you posted.

Thank you so much for keeping us informed, Star! I hope the plastic surgeon is a good one and can fix the damage. Of course, they don't have Medicare in England, so I hope they have some kind of national health insurance. Or that she has good private insurance. (Seems to me that the other driver should be responsible for Holly's medical expenses, but Holly would probably have to sue in order to get that.)

I don't see how that other driver could possibly convince anyone that the accident was not her fault. Is she suggesting that Holly was driving backward on a high speed highway, and backed into her??? I hope Holly has a good lawyer.

Anyway, I'm relieved to know she's still alive.

I hope they have some kind of national health insurance.

The UK's NHS is in a horrible mess. Holly's already been struggling to get a hernia surgery. I hope they don't give her the same runaround now that she's got a serious injury.

Thanks so much for the update @StarSong !
