Forum member seriously injured

@hollydolly hope you're doing better. I'm afraid I got in an accident myself today with Lia and my dog Ember in the car. Traffic was slowing down on the freeway though San Francisco and the Tesla ahead of me put her breaks on suddenly so I also broke fast. But the Prius behind me didn't get the memo and crashed into the back of my car at speed. Our air bags didn't even deploy as the breaks brought us to a quick stop. But my car looked like it had exploded. It is totaled. All in the service of keeping us safe apparently.

My dog was very friend with Highway Patrol and EMTs and rode in the tow truck between us quite happiy.

I’m really glad that you guys weren’t hurt, but sometimes neck and back injuries from being rear ended don’t show up for a few days so pay attention to how your body feels. I had that happen to me when I was in my 30s and rear ended. Take care.

Holly, how wonderful to see you back here! When I saw your name and your lovely, familiar picture, I was literally moved to tears. Your condition sounds anything but wonderful, but you are so much better than a week ago, and your strong spirit and (dare I say British?) grit will carry you through.

I can imagine how hard it is to type with one finger, and I think you said your left hand is your non-dominant hand, which makes it even harder. Mark, my sympathies on the scary experience you and your dog had. Fortunately, it sounds like you are OK, though I'm sure your experience was terrifying in its own right. Holly can dictate an email orally, but apparently not into this forum. I am more than happy to receive her messages that way and forward them to the whole group. Starsong does it also. It only takes a second. So Holly, don't feel you have to keep struggling to type until you are up to it. You don't need one more problem.

Keep on getting better, friend. And thanks for answering so many of the questions we all have about this. It does sound as if you are getting some help, but IMO not enough. Too bad all of us can't go to London, march into the health social services office, and raise hell. Your friends on this forum would be a force to contend with.

I love the entire last paragraph of this post.
It's so very true!🤩☺️😁🤗👍

I'm very sorry to hear that you, your spouse and dog had an accident too. But glad to hear that you are ok!

Hello everyone , thankyou for all the uplifting wonderful caring messages you've given to me over the last 9 days since my accident... it has kept me so much more in a positive frame of mind, and always knew i had excellent taste in friends..

it's very difficult for me to type here on the forum. the right hand is out of action, plastic surgeons worke to save it on the night following the accident...nd my left arm and hand are severely bruised. my body all down the right side is every colour except skin colour, i have 27 if i recall properly... stitches in my hand....
I have 3 fractured ribs on the right.....so i'm having to type this with just one finger on my left hand... to say thank you everyone, you're all my forever friends....but most of all i couln't not aattempt to write to Mark and Lisa, and lilttle pooch, how much i know the shock you must be feeling today, even if you have no physical injuries..((HUGS)).. I'm sorry for the loss of your vehicle ..i hoe it's all easily remedied by the other person's insurance...

As for me.the district nurse came yesterday to redress my hand, and will return again on Monday.. on thursday i have an appt with the plastic surgeons again at the hospital.
things are difficult , i can't cook.. it's painful to sleep walk sit or stand due to the ribs.. can't tidy up, or wash dishes.. using paper plates instead..but with help of the anti-biotics, painkillers and muscle relaxants things are improving, albeit too slowly for me.

Sunny and Starsong, have been my personal angels checking on me on an almost daily basis and relaying my speech to text mails back to you all..on the forum 💞

My insurance company are dealing with everything, and i do have legal cover and personal injury cover as well, but i'm told these things take a long time to sort out. The accident was 100% the other drivers fault and she had no injuries. I'm entitled to a replacement car from my insurers, but no use having it while i'm unable to drive it...

IT has taken m 35 mins to write this using my left hand and it's hurting now, but i just wanted you all to know i read everything you write and can't appreciate you more.... and some of your messages make me laugh too even if it is sore....i still love to read them....

but i also had to come and wish Mark & Lisa...better...and pray they have no injuries.

Love to you all

🌷🌺💞🧡
God speed your healing Doll, keep the constant movements slow but deliberate and constant is a thought to help. Those ribe have a built in knowledge that things have to move, just keep it very slow for some months.
