Gentle posts for gentle folks

Getting a bit worried here now, Kaila... everything okay? πŸ₯Ί
Thank you, Kate, and each one of you, for all of your posts, today.
I've had another very rough day. Things are 'okay' ...
but I am having trouble coping, with the non-okay-ness parts. πŸ˜– o_OSeems like too many medical issues and total challenges = overload for me.
Thanks for the caring, friends.πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—

Good morning to each one of you.
And good afternoon, too.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and caring posts, today.

I had a medical appointment for myself finally again this morning, which I did my best to go to. I couldn't squeeze it into the past 2 weeks of husband's needs.

But I did get there, thankfully. And it was helpful.

I did not at all expect to, but I've been teaching myself to drive again, which I hadn't done in 2 decades or more.
I'm doing well with the basics and the actual car driving. But the roads have a lot of significant , new and confusing changes, so I find it stressful and challenging. To get from one location to another.

I also cannot, at this point, combine it with much walking. But it is gradual progress, that I hope I can sustain.

More later.
Thanks again for the continued efforts and support. I appreciate it!

Hope you are coping all right @Kaila .. hope you and hubby are both well πŸ€—

According to the calendar and @Georgiagranny, spring is just around the corner.

Hope this photo brings you a little calming and hope for better days, @Kaila. πŸ€—

Thank you both for the caring and encouragement! The night and morning were difficult still;
But the afternoon, was a little better.
After my own appointment, my coping improved. Whew!

Good for you re-learning how to drive! I presume you have a sticker for handicapped parking.

Glad that your appointment went well.
Gosh, thank you for the reminder.
I do not have a placard for handicapped parking spots, and I definitely do want and need one.
I wish I'd asked if they have the forms at the Dr office I went to, today. πŸ™„

Perhaps I can print one from the computers and take it to my next appointment. Or gee, I think I might even have one of those forms, here someplace.πŸ«£πŸ€πŸ€—πŸ€«

Today has been a more relaxing day than any in recent memory.:sneaky:
A welcome day off from medical appointments, and a break from detailed medical-related phone calls as well.

I did not do any of my 'practice' driving, today, nor did I go outside at all. No walks either, though I might try a very short walk in the hallway outside of our apartment, which is a far less strenuous exercise than any of the outdoor options. The hallway is a flat, even flooring, and narrow enough to be near handrails and hall walls, at any point.

Though I will not push any limits, there either today. My past couple of days showed me that I am hovering at the edge of doing too much, and having a greater setback, which I don't want.

Bananas from the last groceries were finally good and ripe, so we enjoyed those, yesterday and today. I washed some dishes today, we got a batch of home made banana muffins made and tested ;) and I handwashed a small basin of handkerchiefs.

The strong winds finally stopped that had followed the last snowstorm for a few days, and it was a more quiet scene out the window, with a beautiful all-blue sky, and something that resembled sunshine in the afternoon. If I remember correctly what that weather phenomenon looks like.

We didn't tackle any decisions or major issues, and we both seemed to feel less stressed overall, today.
I hope all of you had something to enjoy in your day, today too.

Kaila I am thrilled you have taken up driving again!

The freedom, the confidence are yours again. You know the rules of the road, it will all come flooding back. Like riding a bike LOL!

Thank you, for your confidence🀣
(More than I have; read on and you'll learn whyπŸ™ƒπŸ˜„)

I had thought of the comparison myself, so I felt it should be like riding a bike comes back easily, πŸ˜ƒ

But Actually, it didn't come back as easily as that. πŸ«£πŸ™„πŸ˜¬πŸ€—πŸ€

Too bad no one took a video of me...Old lady reteaches herself to drive. πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

Back and forth several times in my own parking spot, I went.....😁

And very close by, at the drive thru pick-up pharmacy window, a couple of days ago:

Please picture me, repeatedly trying to get the driver side car window to open.
Every other window in my vehicle was opening and closing, more than once, while I tried all the switches,
... every window moved, except the needed one!
πŸ˜‚

Well my excuse is that I'm completely unfamiliar with this car.
We got this car several years ago, but I'd only driven it once around our parking lot, back then.

But yes, I do know the rules of the road.

And I've just recently learned how to unlock and lock my car door, using the magical and mysterious key fob. πŸ˜†

(Though I did set off my own car alarm, and was unsuccessful in attempting to turn off the alarm myself in a timely manner, before I learned about the fob.)

I love your honesty. You're a skilled driver, just trying to use an unfamiliar car.

At least your hood didn't fly up like mine once did years ago when a cop tried to restart my car.

Roll on, girl... πŸ’•
