Gentle posts for gentle folks

Hello, all. πŸ₯°β˜ΊοΈπŸ€©πŸ€—πŸ₯°

It was an-icy day, today.
As opposed to a-nicey day.
πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜„

But that warm trend that others are talking about, it's going to arrive hearabouts, tomorrow.

I felt very sloggy and sluggish and poor, all day, but very glad I didn't need to go out at all.

Bluebirds came in a flock this afternoon.
Earlier there were chickadee and nuthatches and finches and cardinals and a woodpecker.

Do i sound like a nerd?πŸ˜ŠπŸ€“
A bird nerd?
πŸ˜πŸ˜„πŸ˜†

Inferring that I'm a nerd when referring to herself as one?

Well, maybe so. ☺️

Let's wear it proudly. πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ€“πŸ˜ŽπŸ₯³πŸ˜„

Let's be proud bird nerds! πŸ₯°

Glad you didn't have to go out today and will be getting some of this warmer weather tomorrow!

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't checked in here. Been involved in a bunch of stuff so haven't been on my computer as much. Hope you all are doing well.

I missed the birds most of all when I moved from my house in the country to my apartment here. City birds are not the same as country birds. I especially enjoyed the winter birds that came to my deck for food. Now I have pigeons and crows mostly.

Good morning, Peeps and Bird Nerds! 😁 I hope everyone slept well and you're ready to start your Thursday. Still kind of mild here for January, but the forecast is no longer predicting 50s for the weekend... mid 40s now. Still decent, but I was getting excited about a long walk at the marina if it would have been 55 or higher. πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ

Are you feeling better today, Kaila? I hate that sluggish feeling that you mentioned... just can't shake it some days. I've noticed that it's extra strong for me when there's thick fog.

Thank you, Kate.
And hello, eveyone;
I did struggle with that extreme type of sluggishness, all day yesterday, and the evening was a muddle-struggle too, and this morning started the same for some hours;:rolleyes:πŸ˜•

However, yesterday my spirits were lifted some, by the interactions I had here at SF, including shared humor, and the acceptance/support.🀩πŸ₯°

And, after today's also rough start, I slowly regained some of my strength and my wherewithal, and am doing a little better overall.☺️
I feel very relieved, by that improvement this afternoon, and am hoping to get to an important medical appointment scheduled for tomorrow, Friday.
I'd had to cancel it last time, so I surely don't want to do that again tomorrow!

Good Afternoon, Kaila and Friends πŸ€— :coffee: ❄️

Hope everyone is feeling good this lovely, warm January day.

The Lucius walks have been very nice so far today.

My trip to Walmart the other day wasn't as productive as I'd hoped, but I still got a few things and it was fun to get out for an errand with husband.

When did Walmart become such a pit, though? I couldn't buy any of the fabrics I wanted because they didn't have them and even it they had there was no one there to cut them and it was obvious from the debris piled on the cutting table that there hadn't been in quite a while.

Oh well, just means a trip to Joann's (Fabric store here). :)

I did get some things for Valentines and Lupercalia, though, so there's that. :)

@Kaila, glad you're starting to feel a little bit better this afternoon. πŸ€— You know, we all benefit quite a bit as well from the friendship and support you share here an on other threads.

Wishing everyone a nice Thursday. πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•

Wonderful post and thank you for the messages in it,
@Medusa πŸ’ŒπŸ’ŒπŸ’Œ

I too, found the walmart here, to be a big disappointment; they did Not stock items I was looking for, and there was poor quality on the produce, even though the display looked pretty and colorful.

The joanns fabric stores have closed here. Years ago, I loved an outing to that place!

Valentines day,
which has already been mentioned twice in this thread (you know who you are,:giggle::LOL:😏☺️😁)

seems soooooo far away, atm.

January is already crawling byπŸ˜•πŸ₯ΊπŸŒπŸŒπŸŒπŸŒπŸŒ

But with all of your help, and mutual help, from me as well,
we will all get through it.
πŸ₯°πŸ€©πŸ˜πŸ€©πŸ˜

Right? I could, and did, spend hours there.

You made me curious so I checked. They've closed here too! :( Apparently, they've closed many of their stores. Michael's is still open, but they only carry fat quarters and supplies for quilting as far as fabrics go. I'm so bummed! 😭
oh dear, I'm sorry they've closed there, too. πŸ₯Ί 😬😧
There was no other place like that, I think.

I dont know what Michaels would carry; i think there's one of those here too. I dont remember if I've ever been in there.

They carry a lot of art and craft supplies, but not much in the way of fabrics. Joann's! Where have you gone!? 😭

Oh that's right. I forgot, but you reminded me, and I did go to Michaels, once, many years ago.

It was better than nothing, at the time.
I think I got a kit for a small project.
I dont usually buy kits, but it was good to have something.

It's so sad! Joann's was awesome. And seriously, am I supposed to buy fabrics from Amazon or Etsy without literally getting a feel for them?

ETA: And what about when I need 1/2 or 1/4 yard of something?
I agree, totally.
I dont know what the solution is.

I do enjoy kits for certain crafts. It's fun to have all the stuff you need right there ready.
